Feb 25, 2026Pressure makes diamonds out of coal, but what does it do with Iron? Tony Stark is about to find out as his search for A.I.M. prisoners takes a drastic turn. Williamson doubles down on the complex persona of Stark. Carnero & Woodard provide impressive imagery to the technological backdrop. The Armored Avenger series is delivering non-stop action with no signs of slowing down! Read Full Review

AIPT - David Brooke
Feb 25, 2026Iron Man #2 builds confidently on the strong foundation of the debut by zeroing in on Tony Stark’s most self-destructive traits. Williamson leans into Tony’s impulsiveness in both romance and combat, using it to create friction with Captain America and to complicate the ongoing Madame Masque storyline. The issue moves briskly from flashback to superhero scuffle to Madripoor intrigue, all while advancing the A.I.M. plot in meaningful ways. Carnero and Woodard continue to shine, delivering expressive performances and kinetic action that sell both the spectacle and the bruises. This run is finding its rhythm early, and it is one that understands Iron Man thrives when his brilliance and his flaws are equally on display. Read Full Review

Feb 28, 2026After two issues in, everything still feels fresh and exciting, and was I’ve stated a few times throughout my review, Williamson has captured that feeling that anything can happen at any time. That is very important for me as the reader to be totally engaged in the story being told, I feel like Williamson is trying to deliver an epic Iron Man story in his run. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Tyler Davis
Feb 26, 2026Iron Man #2 puts on the brakes as it works to better thread the broken romance of Tony Stark and Whitney Frost into the core narrative of this first arc. While it does feel a bit all over the place tonally, the unabashed love for Marvel's strange clash of history and a commitment to recent continuity continues to keep the thrills of this book high. Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez
Feb 25, 2026Iron Man #2 delivers enough slick action, clean visuals, and forward plot motion to justify a slot in a Marvel reader’s pull list, but it does not quite earn a blind buy from anyone looking for heavier drama. If you are comfortable with Tony Stark written in full late phase MCU chatty mode, cracking jokes while the world tilts around him, the issue will probably play as a fun, fast read with an intriguing big picture hook about manufactured genius and weaponized trauma. If you want the premise to land with genuine weight, if you want to actually feel the nightmare Tony fears and see Madame Masque treated as more than a stylish chaos engine, the constant quipping and tonal lightness will likely leave you cold. Plot Tony reveals that he has had an intimate relationship with Madame Masque, fueled by their rivalry and Masque's constant challenges to Iron Man. Tony tells her that his greatest fear is that someone with his intellect and resilience will emerge and become a villain. Tony asks Captain America for information on A.I.M.'s whereabouts, but only receives a reprimand from Steve Rogers. Meanwhile, Norbert Ebersol/The Fixer is leading A.I.M.'s mission to use a group of brilliant young people, carefully selected by Tony Stark himself to receive the first Tony Stark Award. A.I.M. takes each of them to simulators equipped with technology developed by Mojo, Arcada, and Mysterio to create traumas and force the formation of a new Tony Stark co more

I like Joshua Williamson's interpretation on Tony Stark, he actually makes him more interesting and likable compared to other runs. The art is also solid, and overall this series has me engaged

The new Iron Man series continues to be underwhelming, despite solid art and some interesting story ideas. I don’t know what it is, but it just doesn’t feel exciting or important - and it should, considering the fact that Iron Man is one of Marvel's central heroes.

I have no clue what happened with Iron Man #2 … I enjoyed the first issue, but had to force myself just to finish this one. I honestly got so bored while reading this comic, I put it down BEFORE the staple. The art is fine, but the story seems lost, the concept isn’t all that interesting and feels like it’s been done before. Tony had an idea, the villain is using it against him and he’s going to solve this problem all by himself. I have enjoyed a few Iron Man launches, but more than often I haven’t and sadly this one is falling into that second category. The best relaunch had to be the 1998 Heroes Return (volume 3) series by Kurt Busiek … it was exciting and heroic, things that are lacking with this new series.

I'm making this quick because this book isn't worth my time. I haven't read a good Iron Man comic book since 2004 with Invincible Iron man Extremis. Since then they all struggle with him only being a drunk, a depressed loser, a war monger, involved in X-men crap or stuck on MCU cosplay. This comic is the Latter. We get full on RDJ imitation by Joshua Williamson ,who is a good writer but Tony banging Madame Mask? NO. Tony then being involved with Modok who is doing a comedy bit in a hot tub? Huge NO. Total cringe comment. This comic became unreadable at the moment. Joshua seems to not care about making a serious iron Man comic and wants to make a funny, do whatever bro im drunk, Rich Tony Stark RDJ Comic" from Iron man 2. Lets talk more

I was so hopeful for a Josua Williamson led Iron Man Book. Unfortuanatley, this is not a good beginning. The scene with MODOK is just stupid. He builds up Madame Masque to be a villain and then goes to bed with her. I'm going to give this five issues. My Review Channel - https://youtu.be/5UfOn0d7BH8
