Knull and his symbiote horrors have come to Earth, and now all Jane Foster sees when she looks at that big blue a vision of death. Most of Earth's heroes are locked in battle on the ground, and it's up to Jane and the Sentry to protect the rest! But Knull's power has spread over the galaxy and infected creatures even older than the gods...and it may not matter how many Valkyries Jane can bring to their aid.

When all is said and done, Return of the Valkyries #2 grows its story well as it brings in new characters and sets up the adventure ahead. Read Full Review

Return of the Valkyries' splintered storylines felt unusual at first as if the story was being spread too thin, but they inevitably found a way to seamlessly weave back together. Read Full Review

    This was a little slow?

Clearly building towards something, and I appreciate the character moments. I don't agree this is lacking in action in any way.

The nameless new Valkyrie is dispatched to fetch her ax. Dani fights a void-dragon and Jane links up with her (and Hildegarde!). Brunnhilde provides some welcome exposition that neatly stitches Knull's origin story to the Valkyries' affairs. That's not a lot of plot progression, but I am deeply in love with how the characters are written here. And Brunnhilde's contribution opens up the possibility that the Valkyries' story might have a significant impact on the wider event.

Speaking of the wider event, how sad is it that in 100s of pages, nobody's provided a better name for Knull's symbiote dragons than "symbiote dragons"?

This issue felt overly long, but it wasn't that bad.

Jumping between characters and adding new ones is losing my interest very quickly. I think maybe I should have passed on this title.
