• A tech-crime ring is tightening around Spider-Man.
• If Ironheart will stop beating him up, she may be able to help him zero in on the source.
• And who is the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent showing up at Peter's door with more info on Spidey than anyone should have?

If you are looking for a Spider-Man story that doesn't take Peter back to the basics, but also doesn't make him a millionaire with tons of unnecessary gadgets, please pick up this comic. It pulls off the combo of funny and serious really well, and the art matches the story in a way you don't see often. Read Full Review
TL;DR: A second issue as good as the first, Zdarsky and his creative team are off and running with a really fun and enjoyable Spider-Man comic! Read Full Review
Even though it enters into all out espionage plot mode, Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-Man #2 doesn't forget the jokes and goofy sense of humor that made the first issue so great. Read Full Review
This is a silly, silly comic, and yet it's just a lot of fun to read. Read Full Review
This is an interesting start, don't let my references to the amount of dialogue put you off. There is an interesting plot brewing here and the light hearted tone of the comic is refreshing when read at the same time as something like Secret Empire. Read Full Review
Spectacular Spider-man #2 might be even more enjoyable than the first issue. The characters are fully fleshed out and relatable, whether it's Peter, Johnny Storm, or Teresa. But most importantly, this book is FUN. A sharply written script and solid art team makes this the Spider-man book to read. Read Full Review
Regardless of minor flaws, Zdarsky manages to write the series well and its future is bright. You really should be reading this. Read Full Review
It's all secret sisters and coffee date chaos in Chip Zdarsky and Adam Kubert's light-hearted Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #2, a genuinely funny book that's a little too thick on exposition and a little too light on action to match up to the compelling first issue. Read Full Review
Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man (vol. 3) #2 takes a nosedive in quality thanks to an overstuffed recap as well as some questionable character choices. Adam Kubert's art is as stellar as ever, but writer Chip Zdarsky would be wise to rein in his meta-commentary and save that for the Deadpool book he's destined to write. Read Full Review
Disappointing so far, not looking for a Deadpool book dressed up in webs. Read Full Review
Another extremely strong issue for this new Spider-Man series. This is pretty much a set up issue with Chip setting up the pieces for his first arc so not a whole lot of action but it does set things up quite nicely. For me the biggest strength of this book is how well Zdarsky's writing style and humor really fit with Spider-Man. This has a definite classic Spider-Man tone to it. The art is fantastic as well! Overall I'm extremely excited to get into this series. While I'm ok with the current Amazing run I find myself not all that interested in the globe trotting Iron Man clone Slott has turned Peter into. So I look to books like this and the Spidey series before it to give me a little bit more of the close to home Spider-Man I love! Cant wmore
This is the Spider Man then we deserve
A very fun and charming issue.
A lot fun. A couple serious nitpicks that spoiled it - including putting this before S.E. actually bugs me. Looking forward to next ish.
This book continues to be hilarious and fun. The story is still not very exciting but is starting to pick up. That said, Zdarsky's comedy and character writing is where this book shines. A definite read for any Spider-Man fan.
Spidey juggles a date, a sister, a mild misunderstanding brawl with Ironheart, and two different criminal conspiracies. The issue's spoiled for plot threads. Stitching it all together with Seinfeldian humor doesn't work as well as you might think; it feels like Chip Zdarsky is presuming too much on his readers' willingness to accept wacky Spidey. It also doesn't help that Adam Kubert's level of polish has dropped off significantly since the last issue. This issue is mostly talking and I think the artist was getting drowsy by the final scenes. This series remains full of promise but the tone could definitely use a tune-up.
Garbage.
