• Having purple hair used to be an act of rebellion, but now Gert is just one of many. Which doesn't sit well with Ms. Yorkes.
• And she's not the only one wrestling with who they are and what they want as Nico, Chase, Karolina and Victor all wrestle with their own identity crises...

It's always a scary proposition for both creators and readers when an established and well-loved property like the Runaways gets handed over to a new set of hands. With this latest issue, Rowell and Anka prove that they are worthy of the honor to continue telling our Runaways' stories. Read Full Review
A strong issue coming from one of the industries top creative team. The story might not have a lot of action compared to the previous arcs, but at least the strong foreshadowing and character exploration gave a strong potential to look forward to the upcoming stories/arcs. Read Full Review
Runaways #11 hit a lot of key plot points here and that was a big accomplishment in such a short amount of time. With that said, there is still one more to get to, and I have my fingers crossed they will not delay with the next issue. Read Full Review

The identity crisis issue brings a little humor and a lot of great character work. Stellar art, as usual, and more confident stretches where the writer clams up and trusts the artist to handle all the storytelling work. I particularly liked the way the backup story tied into the overall theme and gave the whole team a sobering "are we sure being a Runaway is so terrific?" bit of collective soul-searching. It's a quiet episode, but the way the characters interact and the way the creators tell the tale is supremely satisfying.
I wonder what pocket dimension Gert stumbles in t find this many people with purple hair in one place. I do get what the creators are going for though and it is otherwise communicated eloquently. Doombot is amazing as usual, I'm so glad he's still in the book.
