I enjoyed everything about this issue. The artwork is really highquality, the colors delicious and consistent despite the large teaminvolved. The writing is gripping and completely in line with the StarWars sentiment and ethos. The whole style of the book combines classicStar Wars while adding a fresh twist. My hopes are high for thisseries having been slightly skeptical going in. Very enjoyable. Read Full Review
This is a great way to start a series with an issue that places everything on the board and sets up the players to lead us into the rest of the series with rock solid writing and excellent art. Strap in and get ready, the hunt has begun and I am here for it. Highly recommended! Read Full Review
A good first issue in a different kind of Star Wars story. If you love bounty hunters, shady bars, and dangerous missions give this a look. Read Full Review
Target Vader doesn't offer up any huge surprises or changes to the larger narrative with what it's doing here but it hits the ground right and gets moving quickly. Thompson is going for what feels like a very theatrical oriented book and the opening installment is smooth as it gets the right questions out there and sets it up on the move. Read Full Review
While many fans will love the throwback adventure that honors the expanded corners of the universe, others might be disappointed with the campy tale that borders on fan fiction. Either way, this book makes good on the promise of being a gritty tale of the Star Wars underworld. Read Full Review
While the issue doesn't totally excite, it's more than enough to get you to come back. There's something fun about Target Vader. It has a style and voice that feels different than what we've seen so many times before. It delivers a new reading experience for an established franchise. This is one to check out for Star Wars fans or just comic readers. Read Full Review
A good start to a new Vader story with the added bonus of bringing a cool character from the 80's comics into the modern Star Wars cannon. Read Full Review
Even without selling me on Valance, Star Wars: Target Vader #1 is a strong first issue setting the stage for what is to come, while offering a nice final twist on how everything seen here plays right into the hands of the Rebellion. Worth a look. Read Full Review
Do yourself a favor: if you're a Star Wars fan who can't wait to go to Galaxy's Edge or wait for Episode IX, pick up this book and take some time to immerse yourself back in the land of scum of villainy. It'll be the best thing you read all week. Read Full Review
Despite its strong visuals, Target Vader #1 does little to stand out next to Marvel's various other Star Wars books. Read Full Review
There are a lot of Vader comics out there now, but I do think this one looks like it has an interesting story to tell. It does a quick and easy job of setting up the group and there are some pretty cool Vader moments.
A decent start. It suffers from not being all that different from other Star Wars titles and is a bit meh at times but the plot is nice.
