I'm debating reading this. Is there anything essential to the new Ultimate universe? It doesn't matter how small.
MILES MORALES CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A UNIVERSAL COLLISION! Two of today's most exciting writers, DENIZ CAMP (ULTIMATES) and CODY ZIGLAR (MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN), join forces for an adventure that will change Miles Morales- and the Ultimate Universe - forever! Drawn by rising star JONAS SCHARF, the brilliantly moody artist who brought you ULTIMATE UNIVERSE: ONE YEAR IN and DARK X-MEN... Before The Maker remade Earth-6160, he left Miles Morales the key to reach his new universe...and when Miles' baby sister, Billie, uses it to travel to the Ultimate Universe, it's up to Spider-Man to save her! But the Ultimate Universe is never safe for anmore
All in all, Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 is a great comic. It perfectly balances action and comedy, with appropriate artwork throughout. More than that, it is also a great introduction to one of the most interesting settings of modern Marvel Comics. Read Full Review
Matt: Jonas and Edgar manage to fill the panels full of action that at no point get caught in a web-filled mess. The leap Miles does after Billie is full of energy and detail and the subtle change in his costume is done very well. Each Spider-Man has a uniqueness drawn into them which makes you feel how much fun the duo is having. Sara and Tamra had me interested based on their cover work alone giving off energetic vibes. Scharf delivers some impressive art throughout the issue. The visuals are wonderfully detailed and capture the mood and tone of the story brilliantly. Read Full Review
Ultimate Spider-Man Incursion Issue 1 is a great exploration and catch-up. The universe and its various series have felt disconnected from each other because they are rightly invested in telling their own stories. Read Full Review
Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 is a fun and promising crossover that delivers on fan-favorite character dynamics and cool visuals, even if the stakes and larger story direction remain underdeveloped for now. It's more appetizer than main course, but one that's tasty enough to keep readers hungry for what's next. Read Full Review
Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion introduces the new Ultimate Universe through Miles' search for his sister. Issue #1 offers an enjoyable crossover that leans into character-driven moments and strong visual appeal. While the overarching plot and stakes aren't fully formed yet, it works well as a teaser of what's to come. Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 reads more like a satisfying preview than a full meal, but it's enough to leave readers eager for the next installment. Read Full Review
Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 gets the job done of beginning Miles Morales journey in the new Ultimate Universe. The dynamic with the Spider-Men carries this first issue. But once we get beyond that initial chemistry they have there is a lack of this feeling like a big event. There is a special element that is just not captured, and it is very noticeable. Maybe the next issue will fix that problem. Read Full Review
Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 leads with an interesting premise, but its inconsistent character writing and odd choices in dialogue and pacing leave it falling short of expectations. Read Full Review
Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1 is a clunky, lazy, poorly conceived issue designed to get Miles into the Ultimate Universe. Deniz Camp and Cody Ziglar capture an amusing bit of charm in the interactions between Miles, Peter, and Richard, but the plot is a mess. The next issue may get better, but it's a skip for now. A lot of the complaints on this book seem to be from people who clearly haven’t been reading any of the ultimate Spider-Man books. You should be, it’s one of the best books out there right now.
It's fun and fine. Nothing special, but entertaining enough.
Art is great. Story is good with lots of bits set up for future issues. Good to see the Maker's lieutenants again.
Biggest issue the characterization of Ultimate Peter felt way off. Too silly (like 616 Peter) and I felt he noped out way to early.
$6 for something that should be big but "ultimately" ,tee hee, feels unimportant.
why?
