Now this is what I've been craving for the last six issues. Remender hit it right on the money. Deapool is FINALLY utilized in a proper fashion. Ribic's work in the issue is surprisingly adept at playing up the emotional aspects of these scenes, even amidst massive fights and characters wearing masks. Much credit is due to inker John Lucas and colorist Matthew Wilson, as their thin, precise line work and emotive color palette plays a huge part in the way that Ribic's art reflects Remender's words tonally, if not in action. The thing I loved most about Grant Morrison's run on "New X-Men" was that he had written a single cohesive novel with its own themes and arcs, focusing on and growing its main characters. Rick Remender's "Uncanny X-Force" is doing the same things, with the same deft narrative touch and relentless imagination. It's only been 7.1 issues but it already feels like a classic. So that's what the Deathlok's were looking for! I also guess this is how Rick Remender is going to try to fix the fact that Fantomex killed a child... By having Fantomex now inexplicably save Kid Apocalypse... I'm not sure how I feel about that revelation, I don't think I liked it, but it is still early on, so I'll give Remender a shot before I blast the idea too much. What I will blast is this storyline, which I didn't enjoy at all! I've never cared about Deathlok at all, so I am VERY glad that this storyline has concluded. Fabulous conclusion to Uncanny X-Force’s second arc. I love how Apocalypse is still looming (judging by that last page), and I lapse love the way Remender plays the long game with this series. The team dynamic is unique and one of the best parts of the series. Really going to miss Esad Ribic in future issues as well
