This issue is a mixed bag. Some parts of the story were a bit clichd. However, the vibrant artwork and the portrayal of Batgirl as a strong and smart heroine really save the day.

The writers of BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #20 bring a level of complexity to these heroines. The art by Roge Antonio is really dynamic and captures both the vigilante and human sides of the Birds of Prey. Without a doubt, an awesome read!

There's good news and bad news when it comes to BATMAN: PRELUDE TO THE WEDDING - RED HOOD VS ANARKY. The good news? Red Hood edginess is highlighted in both the story line and artwork. The visuals accentuate the character's darkness. Bad news? Things like Anarky's quickly resolved plans and weak motives muddle the overall plot line.

Although some moments were a bit confusing and unnecessary, the real stars of BATMAN: PRELUDE TO THE WEDDING - NIGHTWING VS HUSH #1 are the characters. The bond between Batman and Nightwing is the focal point of this issue. Tim Seeley brings the character relationships into the spotlight. Also, the artwork by Travis Moore is eye-catching and vibrant. RSVP to this wedding invitation, because BATMAN: PRELUDE TO THE WEDDING - NIGHTWING VS HUSH #1 is a must read!

With no DC cameos to get in his way, Ethan Avery has a chance in the spotlight in DAMAGE #7. Yet he didn't shine in this issue. Unfortunately, the plot is beginning to feel repetitive. However, the artwork captures the action-packed moments just as well as the somber ones.

DAMAGE #8 is a solid issue. With the introduction of a new character, the Unknown Soldier, the redundant plot line of the Damage series may finally change. Although some facial expression look stiff and lifeless, the face paced nature during the chase scenes is captured in the artwork. Overall, a decent issue.

HAWKMAN #2 is a fantastic issue. The artwork by Bryan Hitch is absolutely breathtaking. His visuals capture the beauty of flight and the intricate details of Hall's past lifetimes. Carter Hall's determination to uncover the truth behind his reincarnations makes him such a captivating character. HAWKMAN #2 is definitely a must-read, especially if you're already a Hawkman fan.

JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #1 is truly a spectacle. Every scene is executed beautifully. Magic comes to life, right off the pages of this comic. Although some of the characters seem out of place, I am completely spellbound by the plot. This is a story full of magic, mystery, and intrigue. Definitely, a strong start to a new series. If you are a fan of the magical side of the DCU, then JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #1 is a must read!

NIGHTWING #45 is an interesting issue. Benjamin Percy has brought us an intriguing story about the plague of technology. This will be a villain Nightwing has never faced before and I'm curious to see how he will be able to fight against this computer virus sweeping the city. Perhaps he'll need the Batgirl's help to save the people of Bldhaven. The artwork by Chris Mooneyham never ceases to amaze me. Bldhavenis brought to life in NIGHTWING #45. This issue is definitely worth putting your phone down and reading!
