Overall, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy #2solidifies my opinion of the mini-series as a whole. It's one that hits on the heart of the characters by creating a real relationship. I want this book to succeed! These are two characters I really like to read, from a team whose work I really enjoy. It's a shame that what I loved from issue one just wasn't as prominent in this issue, and I hope that it gets those things back in the issues to come. After the events of Heroes in Crisis it's nice to see Poison Ivy strong, proud, kick ass, sexy and alive again. This issue essentially is two stories, we see Floronics man attack on Ivy and Harley and we get the beginning of a second story with a certain "hat aficionado". The writing is very good and we see glimpses of what the future will bring to the book for both characters. I have some questions and problems with certain elements of the book but they will have to wait. It's a GORGEOUS book with Adriana Melo, Mark Morales and Hi-Fi giving some of the highest quality art you can see in a DC book with vivid colors, action and nice, detailed outlines. I'm just happy we have Poison Ivy back, that's all.

No character in comics is more deserving of a real shot at a comic book monthly role than Poison Ivy, and finally we have a chance to see something, a possibility, of new growth. These first couple of issues have admittedly been very Harley centric, but it's clear were establishing a baseline of 'normal' before we see where they are both going, see where Ivy will end up. Ivy's gonna be a big deal in DC cosmology, that much is clear, and this book is our first glimpse of her baby steps. Let's settle in for a long journey.

Part of me is beginning to wonder why this series was necessary at all. I couldn't help but think that the story and tone feels so Harley centric, that this could have been an arc in Harley's own ongoing. It is good to see Ivy back to her strong and powerful self (however short for) but it would be nice to see more interaction from Ivy. It almost feels like Harley is narrating this entire story. The issue does manage to create some intriguing plot points which I'm excited to explore. Especially Ivy's connection to the green following on from the Witching War arc in Justice League Dark. I'm also curious as to how Harley, who is a trained psychiatrist, can't seem to help her own girlfriend with her mental health issues. Curiouser and c uriouser.... more

"Not after Sanctuary" Nice art with a very mediocre story. Overall, a big "meh".
