However, these questions pale in comparison to the strength of the story Soule and the team tells. All of the visual success comes in tandem with Soule's success as a writer. He balances the exposition and explanation with the incredible action scenes"the entire team is so on point with each other and the creative synergy between them is breathtaking. The end of the issue is unacceptable simply because we need to know what happens next. There doesn't seem any hope for Wonder Woman's survival, but we know that there's no way she'd be truly dead, especially not when this happen before the events of Forever Evil. Naysayers can make their commentary but this series has become one of my absolute must buys. Everything from story, to art, to characterization is spot on and damn near perfect. I read all of Soule's books and by far this is my favorite. Any fan of Superman and Wonder Woman would be doing themselves a disservice by not reading this. I can't wait to see how this arc ends. Superman/Wonder Woman #6 has great action and developments that will ripple through the New 52. It also has some cheesy dialogue and puts Wonder Woman back two steps in the butt kicking department. Superman/Wonder Woman #6 is easily the best issue of the series to date, bringing in a lot excitement and intensity to the story while also having some decent relationship building and artwork to boot. This title continues to be full of entertaining action scenes, which are ably aided by Tony Daniel. There is so much action to cram into this book, and Daniel manages to be both epic and economic with every page. Look, if you're part of the crowd that's very vocal against this relationship, odds are steam will shoot from your ears with this chapter (although, to be honest, I'm not sure why you're still reading it?). However, if you've been enjoying this run -- which appears to be more than a fair share of you -- then you're sure to be incredibly entertained by this issue. Not only is there a visceral slugfest, but the core of this one revolves around the dynamic between Superman and Wonder Woman. Sure, the ending seems designed to make some people question what's next (despite this taking place in the past...), but it still works because of the emotional moment the scene delivers and it absolutely leaves me curious to see how this will impact their relationship in the upcoming issues. The final splash page from Tony Daniel (Detective Comics) also one to rival the last image of Superman #75. It doesn't take three pages to display it's size. It's just a sole page. In that classic ish, Kal-El's cape caught a staff upright in the rubble. It waved in the breeze and flew at half-mast for the fallen hero. In Superman/Wonder Woman #6, that cape is used as a shroud. Even if Soule isn't winning me over with the relationship in this comic, he's at least got a strong handle on action and excitement. The stakes get pushed pretty darn high in this issue, both romantically and"actionly. But Soule and DC have only actually earned one of those. Read Full Review
An interesting match-up between the couples. They definitely proved they would go to the extremes to save the world and it will be interesting to see how the recovery is accomplished and what can be salvaged from the debris.
