  Anthologies are almost never all good. My favorite stories here were Bizarro Love Holiday and The Holiday Pact. None of these stories were bad aside from Bizarro V. Seasonal Depression: Dawn of Climate Change! The reason this story is bad is because Bizarro is so fucking annoying to read. I guess I commend the writer for being able to write such a thing, as it did seem consistent, but it's just so fucking annoying. It gave me a headache. Bizarro sucks. I don't know what it'll take for idiots to realize climate alarmism isn't a thing. Do they have to die of heat stroke during an unseasonal week of high temperatures? Do they have to burn to death in a wildfire? Do they have to drown in their home? What would it take? I'm guessing they'd die s till denying it. Also, lol, imagine complaining about "pandering" when you also cry that they don't say Merry Christmas enough. more

  I'm a year late commenting because I'm just going through various Holiday anthologies on the DCU app, but damn I agree about that Bizarro story. So annoying to read, I gave up and skimmed it which I rarely do. But also, yes to complain about it due to "climate alarmism” is just strange. At this point it's like trying to deny that cigarettes cause cancer.

  A bit of a mixed bag, but most of the stories are light, breezy fun. One Snowy Night by Grant and Dini was the best of the group IMO.

  A collection of very boring and bad stories, the only good ones were the first one with Robin and the one with Flash and Captain Cold. On the cringy side, we get another dose of climate alarmism in the Bizarro story, proof that you shouldn't give writing jobs to mentally-ill people and the JLQ story that truly baffled me. JLQ, really? What's next, JL black, JL latino, JL straight? How much pandering can one company do? I would note though that in a Christmas comic with 8 stories, only one story uses the phrase "Merry Christmas", most of them talk about "the holidays" or "solstice". If you think that's just a weird coincidence, you haven't been paying attention at the craziness out there lately.

  The Paul Deni story is on point, the rest of the book is absolute garbage. Nothing like a Christmas book that refers to the "Winter solstice" more than it does Christmas. Save your money kids.

  ONE Merry Christmas in an oversized book about Christmas. But if you talk about it, you're a conspiracy theorist. When it's fairly obvious these lefty maniacs don't intend on letting us enjoy even a sacred holiday that inspires the best in people. But for the left, that's probably evil or something.

  You're both going to be really angry when you find out that Christmas is essentially just a repurposed pagan holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus rather than Saturnalia or winter solstice like the Romans. Christmas trees, kissing under the mistletoe and even the actual date itself were all traditions that dated back before Christianity existed. But don't let my facts stand in the way of your fight on the front lines of your own personal Waterloo: DC Comics and their "wAr On cHrIsTmAs”.

  Also, claiming that DC comics is preventing you from enjoying "a sacred holiday” (based heavily on pagan traditions) because they don't have enough Xmas stories in a holiday special is the absolute most pathetic possible version of the classic bullshit argument that "letting gay people get married ruins all marriages.”

  Posting an article from a Clairmont Institute member that credits Christmas for the development of morality in the world is some classic Christian selective pseudohistory. This is a deeply unserious statement and ignores a plethora of world history: "We can only say that the development of the idea of equal human dignity was bound up with the propagation of Christianity in the West, and that we cannot know for certain whether that moral idea can survive without its religious support."

  It's pretty easy to claim moral superiority when you ignore everything in Christianity's history that wasn't so morally upstanding (Crusades, Catholic church coverups of underage rape, forced conversions of minority cultures) while ALSO ignoring the existence of any culture that developed outside of the reach of Christianity (most Native American cultures were peaceful and moral for example).
