This is it! The first four issues of this new series have all pointed toward this final battle between Geiger and The Electrician! But it might be a quick one: The Electrician's clever trap hits Geiger's greatest weakness, and his friends are helpless to halt it. Also: the final fate of Barney, the two-headed mutant wolf!
The battle between The Glowing Man and The Electrician could have been staged at any point in the history of comics. Its a kind of a universal sort of a battle that feels quite at home on the comics page. Johns and Frank do a good job of finding something new and unique in a conflict the likes of which has been echoing through page and panel for decades now. Its breathtaking to see something truly new on the comics page, but sometimes it can be equally as satisfying seeing something old and familiar placed on the page in a slightly new and novel way. GEIGER #5 is another gripping comic in the Ghost Machine lineup with an issue-long fight that will have you on the edge of your seat. Geoff Johns masterfully creates a scenario and characters that are utterly believable, and the art team's execution is arguably the best in the business. That said, a gripping fight can't cover for the fact that the plot pace is incredibly slow. Read Full Review
Centering the fight around the well-being of a dog isn't subtle, but it provides clear (if easy) emotional stakes. As a result the final pair of pagesthe only two to suggest at some larger story structureseem tacked on like an afterthought to remind readers to buy more Ghost Machine comics for the whole picture. From the front cover to the last page the art and story telling of the art was a joy to behold. Nice script with the promise of plenty of scope for development really was the highlight of the book. As much as I'm still not convinced by Nate as an ongoing character I thought he acted in a better role as a minor support character. Barney for me as always stole the show and this for me has been one of the standout books so far of 2024.....
Holy. Moly. This series just keeps getting better and better!
Plot
Geiger and Nate try to confront the Electrician, but are physically exhausted after receiving so many electric shocks.
Geiger's powers are still diminished by the Boron dust, Electrician is cunning, but underestimates Geiger's perseverance.
Nate manages to free Barney, who attacks Electrician and bites him so hard that he short-circuits the suit, which explodes, falling into a car crusher and Geiger grinds him little by little.
Geiger and Barney reunite, Nate is also injured, but they are saved from the Electrician.

Great action, amazing art, very good writing, my only complaint is that each issue seems over way too quickly. Five issues in and it all seems so cinematic and epic that it would make a great movie, but it doesn't seem like much more than a 60 minute episode worth of content has happened yet. But still it's so well made, interesting, and exciting that it leaves you wanting more and that's a good thing. Can't wait for the next issue, this will be a helluva binge read for people that aren't keep up with it on release.
Puppy love. This comic is really good as is the whole ghost machine universe or is it called the Geiger universe? Whatever, its a lot of fun.
Nice action type comic. It was entertaining, just didn't progress much of anything. That isn't a bad thing though. It's fun watching Geiger kick ass.
