I don't think I could ever not like Deadpool… I love my “regular” comics… but it's just so nice to have someone who gets to exist in that same world but who is allowed to just be a total goofball. Someone that can be a hero but not at all act like it. It's just a refreshing break from all the more serious comics and is a great fun read no matter what mood you are in. Certainly grab a copy. Its a shame how much fun I got out of the first chapter to Deadpool's Absolute Carnage tie-in, because here, it didn't really capture me at all. The humor wasn't as strong as in its preceding issue, and the villains don't offer any oomph. Deadpool is definitely at his most Deadpool here, so if you're coming in here just for his brand, you might enjoy this more than I did. Read Full Review
Definitely a fun read but lacking a little focus. Read Full Review
This was a fun issue. All of the Absolute Carnage tie ins have been fun so far and this one was as well.
This one worked a lot better for me than #1. I think it's because the not-so-serious tone and the plot were already dialed in and ready to go -- maybe set-up just isn't this creative team's strong suit.
Prelude:
I wasn't the biggest fan of the last issue. Let's see if that has changed.
The Good:
Liking the jokes this time around.
Also I can actually tell what's happening.
The Bad:
Random goons sent to kill someone that we know will survive trope.
Conclusion:
It's better than last issue that's for sure. But still only a pass grade from me.
I liked this more than issue one, definitely.
The pizza with pineapple of Absolute Carnage tie-ins. (So not the worst, it's still pizza. The others have pineapple *and* peanut butter. Except the one about the family. That's pepperoni.)
Still not super working for me to be honest.
It is pretty meh. Writing for Deadpool is so forced, it doesn't land and art is not that good either. It's not bad, just very mediocre.
