On Comics Ground - Ian Cameron
May 10, 2019This is another terrific entry, showing why tie-in issues to comics shouldn't all be scorned, and how they can be used to both highlight the event, and further the on-going title itself! Add to that the several moments where I went "D'awww" regarding Cyclops, and I can't think of higher praise! Read Full Review

Black Nerd Problems - Chris Aiken
May 03, 2019Where things get really good is in the return of Cyclops. His team-up with the Champions brings some much-needed hope to the team. There are some great moments, especially for those who have been reading since the beginning. Zub uses Cyclops' presence to ground the idea that despite everything, the Champions do important work. It's incredibly heartfelt, and what makes the Champions such a great team. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Brandon Masters
May 04, 2019While this could have been a filler issue, Champions issue 5 is filled with a bunch of nods to the earlier run, has some great character moments, and even some closure for Teen Cyclops. If youre a fan of either version of Cyclops, this should be added to your pull list this week. If youre a Champions fan, it should definitely be in your collection. Read Full Review

May 01, 2019If you're not reading Champions already, it's absolutely worth going back and checking out the first four issues, but as an entry point that displays what's great about the series as a whole, Champions #5 is great. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - olddeserthymnal
May 04, 2019This is easily the standout issue of the series so far, and it clicks nicely with the other events in the Marvel universe at the moment. We have taken a break from the main storyline for a moment after four installments, and the events of this book are likely to fortify Kamala against the challenges she faces as leader of her young team. A solid outing and an enjoyable issue. Read Full Review

Tremendous issue. A true high-point for this series. Enjoyed every page of it.

Really good issue. It's only a tie-in in that the War of the Realms is happening. The Champions don't play a major role in the main story. This issue is actually spent mostly on the fallout of the last 4 issues and Ms. Marvel's weakening morale. Cyclops helping her through that was actually really sweet.

It was great to see Kamala and Scott reunite this issue but that's about the only thing this War of the Realms tie in does. There is a lot of generic fight scenes paired with great art. It was good to see more of a spotlight on characters like Pinpoint and Patriot though
