While the plot does suffer from a few confusing sequences throughout, DAMNATION: JOHNNY BLAZE GHOST RIDER #1 is the greatest addition to the DAMNATION storyline yet. Johnny Blaze's sojourn through Hell has all of the high action moments you'd expect, but the true power comes in the creative team's examination of his connection with the Spirit of Vengeance. Damnation: Johnny Blaze " Ghost Rider (2018) #1 is an epic first issue that, although beginning in the middle of the Damnation event, manages to work well as a tie-in while simultaneously stand on its own. Top-tier writing and artwork make this book a pleasure to read, and the story leaves readers eager for more Ghost Rider goodness. Read Full Review

Damnation Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider #1 is a fun and visually beautiful one-shot story. Look I am not a 100% exactly sure what happened or where it goes from here (we might get an ongoing series). But if you are a Ghost Rider fan or a fan of delightful stories with wonderful art then you will like this issue. Johnny Blaze and The Ghost Rider are in Hell, do they plan to escape or will they make it their home? Read Full Review

This is a fun issue and sets up an interesting new status quo for Ghost Rider, which hopefully lasts past "Damnation". Read Full Review

While this doesn't compel me to seek out the original Damnation series, the Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze dynamic does make want to pick up the next issue of this one. It's Grindhouse-like feel is right up my alley and I want to see what happens next. Read Full Review

A surprisingly concise and relevant one-shot in the middle of an event, "Damnation Johnny Blaze" has some shortcomings in the colouring department, more than offset by strong suits on the overall art and story beats. Read Full Review

Johnny Blaze: Ghost Rider #1 is a decent read. The action is fun, but its spread out and unfocused. Its nice seeing a comic focus on Johnny Blaze once again, and this is probably the most were going to get of him for a while yet. Plus, Notos art is gorgeous. I can recommend this one, even if I wouldnt call it necessary reading. However, if you like the Ghost Rider, youll almost certainly get some enjoyment out of it. Read Full Review
