QUEEN ELIZABETH III?!?
Opportunities and opportunists. Two heads-of-state seek to restore the state of things.

Mustering the full powers of the title's cast and creative team, Excalibur #17 brings forth once again the old-school flair and appeal of this team without sacrificing its own feel and look as a 'Dawn of X' highlight. In fact, I would go so far as to say Excalibur #17 could be one of the best issues of the series so far. Equipped with the weird charm of the past and the slick production of the present, Excalibur #17 is a winner. Read Full Review
Overall. A really fun issue with some great story twists. Which are made more interesting with the addition of Pete Wisdom. Read Full Review
I give props to Tini Howard for using this issue as a doorway to demonstrate the unbreakable support system that Betsy has. In one reality she has the love from a nation and people who will do her any favor, and in the reality we are more familiar with she has the strength of a team that refuses to give up on her return. With each issue this lovely creative team continues to surprise me in wonderful ways while keeping my love for Betsy Braddock alive and strong. Read Full Review
Tini Howard channels Alan Davis in my favorite issue of Excalibur yet. Read Full Review
EXCALIBUR is getting better. However, it has some extra baggage that, in my opinion, needs to be left behind. When Howard took the time this issue to focus on the dear Captain, the issue popped! Betsy is the queen… literally! She makes this engine purr. Nonetheless, when Howard continues to showcase the other EXCALIBUR team members, it just seems to come off as disjointed, almost comedic, and uncharacteristic of many of the members. Howard needs to stick with what works and thats Captain Britain and an entire Corps of HER!!! Part ways with the current roster, refocus, and I think this series could be something special. Readers, there is promise here and Im excited to see whats going to happen next for the first time in a long time. Pick this issue up and let me know what you think. Have a great week and God bless! Excalibur #17 does a remarkable job capturing the wild, reality-traversing energy found in the original series. Read Full Review
Really good issue. I like that Tini is delving more into the alternate realities. This title is at it's strongest when focused on Betsy and the rest of the Braddock family. I'm also very much interested in seeing how Betsy's apology to an alternate version of Kwannon will affect her moving forward. Did it act as a sort of practice apology before she reunites with "her" Kwannon, or is she being self-centered thinking this is enough. Anyway, I overall really enjoyed this issue.
This was great I thoroughly enjoyed it. This book has really been on a roll lately
Marcus To is dope
Pretty good issue. I liked the stuff with Betsy a lot more than the stuff with the rest of the Excalibur team.
Betsy makes her way home from the AU where she reigns as Queen of England, just in time to interrupt a medium-serious fight with Coven Akkaba. There are good moments sprinkled all through the issue, but somehow it doesn't come together into a cohesive story. Some scenes are too long, others are too short. The art does well with characters but not so well with action.
And I'm thoroughly underwhelmed by Betsy's apology to Kwannon. It's abrupt, it's not memorably worded, and it's not directed at the right person.
Bleh.
