THE INFINITY QUEST Part 3
• The Guardians are officially Nova Corpsmen! How is Drax going to deal with being overrun by Ultron-ized aliens when he still refuses to throw a punch?
• And are we really trusting Rocket to clean up the Corps?
• Plus: I heard a rumor...is there an Infinity Stone kicking around?
Rated T+
Clearly, this book is powering it way to an action packed series end in two issues. It looks like the Guardians will play a major part in the Infinity event books that will follow. I have to admit that I have been dipping in and out of this series, so maybe it is time for the guardians to take a break for a while. Either way, this looks like it will be a do not miss finale. Despite the frustration with the big Infinity Stone just hanging out there without elaboration or explanation, Guardians of the Galaxy #148 is still a fun read. A Drax-centric issue feels just like what this comic needed right now. The dialogue is good and often quite funny. Marcus To and Ian Herring bring us some great visuals. It was an all-around solid book, and I can recommend it quite easily. Pick this one up. Read Full Review
The funny thing about Guardians of the Galaxy's current run is that there are things that I absolutely hate about it, like the revamped loser Nova Corps and the way that so much of the MCU Guardians' characteristics have been forced onto their comic book counterparts. And yet it's still one of the better Marvel comics on a month-to-month basis. Read Full Review
Guardians Of The Galaxy continues to be one of the brightest shining stars in the Marvel cosmic galaxy. Gerry Duggan and his artists are a godsend. This run has been spectacular, to abandon it would be a travesty. Gerry, please don't go anywhere. Read Full Review
LOVED IT! especially the part where Drax is hitting people again.
This book doesn't disappoint. I wish it had more room to breath and stories to be told at the pace Duggan had in mind but even in his last few issues heading toward Infinity Countdown, the story doesn't suffer especially when Marcus To is helming the art duties for a while now giving it a beautiful vision. Old characters popping up helps as well!
It is thrilling and well drawn story. Duggan takes good things from movies and good things from older Guardians series and mix them together and the result is really good.
Really good issue. Duggin impresses with his ability to drive a story forward and still offer really good character work that doesn't seem shoe-horned in. This should be one of the bigger books on the stand, but instead it's lower tier, which is a bit of a bummer.
The adventurer style stories that are coming from Duggan have been one of the more interesting Guardians runs in a while. It is going to interesting to see where he goes when the series ends at 150 and he goes into a broader focus. In the meantime this is a pretty great read.
Drax finishes the last first-tier Nova Corps quest and the Guardians don't quite hit the road to go find the next quest-giver NPC. There's quality plot development and good character work, but the Nova Corps storyline feels like an anchor in a negative way. Marcus To's art is a lot like Gerry Duggan's script - packed with real talent, but moving just a touch too fast to drill down and do something truly remarkable.
Great focus on Drax. Had some heart warming moments. Overall, a good read. Still hate the new Nova Corps.
