Felicia Hardy's dominance as one of the current best characters at Marvel Comics continues in another really fun, character-heavy, gorgeous issue that balances all of that and fleshes out the plot/new characters so well. Every time it seems that we're going to go hungry without this fantastic character and her world, we're given a new treat that sustains the audience for a while longer. Building on two well-known characters, MacKay is developing a somewhat intoxicating villain in the pages of this latest mini-series. The second issue of the series takes a real chance by giving the heart of this installment to Tamara, and it pays off in a really big way. Tamara could develop into someone every bit as charming as Iron Man or Black Cat given the right angles. The middle of the series hits the page with an apparent clash between Iron Cats for issue #3. It will be interesting to see how the overall plot arc resolves in the final three issues of the series. Read Full Review
Jed MacKay and Pere Perez deliver another fun issue of Iron Cat. The chemistry between Felicia Hardy and Tony Stark shines throughout Iron Cat #2. Add in the deeper dive into the plot behind the new villain using the Iron Cat armor against Black Cat and Iron Man and you have comic book that is just fun to read. Read Full Review

The second issue fills in gaps for readers, offering us flashbacks to Felicia and Tamara's shared past and plenty of examples how both characters think and act leading Felicia to set the kind of trap for her old friend she knows Tamara can't ignore. Read Full Review

This is an extremely good issue, but not great like #1. Tamara's point of view is superb (as is all of the art) -- so good that it makes Felicia's share of the issue pale a bit in comparison.
While Felicia and Tony are driving the story forward in narratively-important ways, it's Tamara that provides the real intrigue and interest. Felicia's a fairly well-known quantity at this point; learning more about her antagonist just ratchets up the anticipation for the dance to come.
Jed Mackay needs to promoted to bigger series like ASM. He understands characters!
If no one else except Jed wrote Black Cat in Marvel, I would perfectly fine with it.
