• The RUNAWAYS are back, but are they ever, ever, ever getting back together?
• Did Chase and Gert's love survive their time apart? Have Karolina and Nico's feelings made their friendship impossible? What emotional land mines lie in wait to DESTROY the Runaways?!
• And should we be more worried about those, or about the shadowy scientist watching them from a distance?

Story is still a bit slow, although it doesnt bother me, some might not enjoy the slow pacing of the storyThe reveal that only 2 years had passed since Gert died; this made the timeline of Marvel very confusing now.Rating: 9.2/10 Rainbow Rowell continues to deliver by giving what the fans want. Answers. We now know what had happened to the rest of the gang. With Kris Ankas exceptional art and Matt Wilsons coloring skills. We have another winning book that will definitely please both new fans and old. Read Full Review
I'm anxious for Karolina and Molly to rejoin their friends as soon as possible, and I'm holding out hope that we'll see Klara, Victor (despite all odds), and even Xavin in future issues. For Runaways fans old and new, Rowell, Anka, and Wilson weave a story that hooks our emotions and won't let go. Read Full Review
RUNAWAYS #2 shines in its characterization. Gertrude Yorkes, Nico Minoru, and Chase Stein all leap off the page as they explore the events of the last several years. However, the plot suffers for the repetitive, summary feel of the entire issue. Read Full Review
Runaways #2 gave us as close of an answer as to if the Runaways could ever get back together. They all have their problems and a lot that they dealt with over the course of two years. All it took was getting back the one person who served as the reason they fell apart in the first place. A push was all they needed along with some tough love. Will it be enough? Who knows, but Runaways is all about the adventure. Read Full Review
The Runaways, as characters, are perfectly positioned for this kind of reunion series, and I'm so excited to see the creative team run with that idea to its fullest. Read Full Review
Runaways #2 is a bit of a slow burn, but an issue that is still a pleasure to read as it establishes Rainbow Rowell's seriousness towards following and connecting the Runaways' somewhat scattered continuity with her vision of the series. This story is for long time fans who over the years have asked, "Whatever happened to the Runaways?" " as we are finally getting the answers we deserve. Read Full Review
Great, great, great dialogue in issue #2. With absolutely no action, besides Old Lace returning, this book proves that Rowell is a force to be reckoned with. After Chase reads Gert the time machine riot act, things immediately become sober and somber. It hits Nico and Chase that they really have lost every member of the team they called blood. This is the moment that I realized Rainbow Rowell shines brighter than a supernova. Her dialogue game is insanely proficient. Her prowess with the pen knows no bounds and I don't think anyone could've done The Runaways return any better. Read Full Review
It seems the entire thrust of this arc is getting the old gang back together. But given that this is a miniseries, that creates a big dilemma. Why spend so much time rebuilding the team if there's not going to be a chance to do anything with team when all is said and done? Read Full Review
While Runaways #2 is undeniably a step down from the electrifying first issue, I wouldn't count Rowell and Anka out just yet - I would imagine that this was a calculated step back, to give us all the necessary exposition before dropping us into the thick of things moving forward. And if that does wind up being the case, I think this sophomore installment is a forgivable stumble, almost a loss leader as far as narrative forward thrust is concerned. But regardless of plot, Runaways is a book that looks truly beautiful, and definitely deserves your continued consideration. Read Full Review
Nice to have Gert back, but it moves a bit slowly... Read Full Review
Gert's back! Classic Runaways. Very jarring twist ending, followed by another ominous reveal.
Chase and Nico catch Gert up on the Runaways. It's dressed up with quality characterization, but this is mainly an acerbic review of the painful stories the characters have been subjected to by previous authors - Mystery Runaways Theater 3000. Gert plays the admittedly-apt role of critic-in-chief. This retrospective is arguably necessary, but I'm betting #2 is not going to top anybody's "ooh, let's reread that" chart a few months from now. All signs point to this series being constructed from the get-go in trade-sized chunks, though, so we need to balance "this is an underwhelming single issue" against "this is obviously part of a larger story."
Gert is a bit of a bitch isn't she? I guess it is a lot to take in.
