• Students of Strange Academy go on a perfectly normal field trip... to space... uncovering a magical artifact... with Rocket and Groot. • Yep, perfectly normal.
• Meanwhile, WHAT IS THE RING OF DREAD?!

Though Strange Academy #8 isn't close to being something you can pick up and read on its own, it's a building block to a much steadier future. That is, of course, if the book can even manage to be more dynamite than it already is. Read Full Review
Humberto Ramos does an amazing job with the art in the issue. There are so many great visual moments throughout from the characters to the action. Read Full Review
Strange Academy #8 is another strong issue for this series. Each issue this series continues to grow on me and I am getting more and more invested as Skottie Young starts to focus in on different characters. I still think that there are too many new characters to try to get to know so fast, but Young has done a fantastic job these past two issues of focusing in on one or two of them. The space adventure story, while fun, didn't really add much besides adding a little levity to the issue. I hope Skottie Young keeps on this path and we get more in-depth with these characters as Strange Academy continues to move forward. He seems to be settling into his groove these past two issues. An equal blend of really good character storytelling and more generic wild magic adventure. Read Full Review
Strange Academy is a fun book. You can easily start midway and have a decent understandingof what is taking place. The overall environment coupled with Youngs epic writing lendsitselfwell to a story about mystical teenagers. This book scratchesthat OG XavierInstituteandHogwartsitch. As soon as you are finished reading this review, go to your LCS, and pick up this issue. You will not be disappointed. Read Full Review
When you bring it all together Strange Academy #8 delivers a strong emotional follow-up to a big story event, mixed with a well-implemented comical side story to keep things from getting too heavy. Young and company continue to craft a tale that is equal parts emotional, unique, and fun. Pure magic. Read Full Review
More of the continuing adventures of the students of Strange Academy. By this point you would either be invested in these characters or have moved on. Read Full Review
Strange Academy takes some of the tragedy of earlier issues and allows us to see how these kids cope with it. Read Full Review
Maybe I am too easily pleased. But each issue of Strange Academy just has me waiting for more.
SPOILER ALERT
This Issue #8 was absolutely terrific! Loved seeing Doyle Dormmamu in therapy for his death and return to life experience. The promise ring Doyle gave Emily was sweet and effective. Always been a fan of Agatha Harkness from the Fantastic Four days and her recent adventures with Scarlet Witch have been terrific! Ms. Harkness is the perfectly stern teacher. The field trip was fun and Iric being vomited up at the climax was very funny!
Skottie Young, Humberto Ramos and Edgar Delgato produce such amazing artwork. Skottie Young 's plots and writing has me on the edge of my seat. Arthur Adams did a fine more
They’ve finally done the set-up (arc 1) and now it seems they’re letting skottie young do his thing and it shows. Ramos’s art is great as always.
I don't know what it is about this series, but I've really enjoyed the last two issues.
This comic rules
Emily and Doyle get some nice scenes (separately) to unpack their recent ordeal. Meanwhile, the zany business of running a magic school continues; guest stars Agatha Harkness, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot do their part to keep things weird and wild. I'm loving the art and the character work on the key students. The zaniness is okay. The script has a slippery structural problem where none of the scenes feel finished; they just sort of fade into one another. It makes this issue go by a little too quickly.
Series is up and down.
Nothing really happened, just setups for things we have still no idea what they are
Maybe I wasn’t in the mood but I had a hard time with the organization of this one.
