Issue #29 serves as the preview for issue #30 that many readers have been awaiting. It establishes that despite Otto being the new Spider-Man, Green Goblin will go to any and every length to destroy Otto, his memory, and those close to him. While the plot of Spirit-Peter is relegated to two pages, it serves its purpose will enough in that is reveals some new perspective of what Otto has gone through by being (in Ottos eyes) Spider-Mans personal punching bag. This plot point, as well as all others, work together to make Superior Spider-Man #29 a must have issue in Slotts deconstruction and revival of all things Spider-Man. Read Full Review

While we've seeing Miguel in the background since he first appeared from 2099, he starts to make a stronger appearance here towards the end as the Spider-Slayers attack and his involvement in the creation allows for an expected out – at least for the moment. There's a lot going on throughout this issue as Octavius does continue to be in a bit of a panic as he looks for some solid footing to work off of, and it is really interesting to see him struggle through this. But it also makes a big impact with a surprisingly key death scene that happens here that surprises a little bit, both for the dying words and the way you know it makes such an impact on Octavius. Events have been moving towards this for some time and seeing all the mistakes Octavius made now biting him hard is harder to watch than one might have expected after originally starting this series. While the third part of Goblin Nation didn't blow me away, it was still a very fun read. The art is dynamite throughout and the back and forth between Spidey and Goblin kept this particular issue in the fun zone. On the down side of things, the book gets a tad chaotic with everything going on and the individual issue isn't living up to the whole story. However, I still really recommend SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN. Oh man, this is starting to get to be too much, but in the best possible way. The build up to this finale has been getting better and better, and while I may have said this at one point over the course of this year, I'm saying it again: 'Superior Spider-Man' is one of the best things to happen to the Spider-Man mythology in years. Unfortunately, the art quality takes a fairly significant dive in this issue. Giuseppe Camuncoli's art is rougher and less refined. The pivotal moment of the issue is severely hindered by poor presentation, leaving the reader to wonder what happened rather than simply bask in the moment. Read Full Review

The art continues to work well for me. Camuncoli does some very nice, detailed work, and he knows when to fill and empty his backgrounds for dramatic effect. Hes got a lot of big action to draw this arc, and thats often where we can see a lot less detail, but his stuff still looks alive and keeps a sense of drama. Read Full Review

As swing issues of gripping story arcs go, "Goblin Nation" part three in "Superior Spider-Man" #29 makes a lot of progress raising stakes and advancing the story. It's good to see Spider-Man and Green Goblin going at it again, even if the sides are mismatched and two more parts of this saga remain to be delivered. This isn't the most amazing Spider-Man story ever told, but it is a solid adventure against a noteworthy foe with high stakes -- just the type of Spider-Man story people call "classic." Hopefully the last two chapters dial things up a bit more and deliver more surprises. Read Full Review

A vast enhancement over past issues, issue #29 brings us closer to a satisfying conclusion to The Superior Spider-Man saga. Otto is finally experiencing the tragedy that molded Peter Parker into the character we know, and it is a brilliant spectacle to watch as it unfolds.

The mental turmoil of Otto is fascinating.
