An action packed installment of what is already a compelling read. Aaron is going to stop writing the hell out of this book until he's regarded as a Top 5 Thor writer. Read Full Review
Month in and month out, The Mighty Thor is a clear contender for Marvel's best ongoing series. This issue crams in all the carnage and spectacle one could ask for from a clash between a god and a fire demon, but also plenty of emotional drama to boot. This story arc continues to make a strong case for the existence of three Thors in the Marvel Universe. Read Full Review
Mighty Thor is still crazy fun and some of the best action you'll find in comics, but it feels like the comic is treading water with the overall storyline. Read Full Review
Another issue that deserves more than a ten.
Ever since Aaron introduced the fact that Mjolnir has sentience he changed the way I have looked at the enchanted hammer. With that in mind it makes the hammer from the ultimate universe that Volstag now controls intriguing. There is an implication that the ultimate version of Mjolnir is filled with rage over a dead universe and that makes the direction of the title exciting. The ending also made me excited over the next issue. Over the last few issues Aaron has tried to focus our attention of the victims of the war that has gone on between the realms. Something that I hope leads to a great pay off. The art was filled with more good moments than bad. The colors I think made the art really stand out. There is less of a fantasy feel and more more
We get introduced to Sindr, queen of Muspelheim, right before War Thor arrives to wreck her realm. There's gorgeous fighting, but what I most appreciate is the pitch-perfect treatment of Sindr. She's a totally welcome addition to the world of the Realms, a jealous daughter of Surtur and a perfect tooth-gnashing baddie. Valerio Schiti's art does strong work threading a legible story through a land of flame and flying rock. Lava sharks? Lava sharks!
Fantastic continuation from last issue. Donât know how Volstagg loses all that weight when he picks up his hammer thoughđ
Once again, there's a slight inconsistency in how Muspelheim fire works. A couple issues ago, Aaron wrote that only fire goblin blood could neutralize the effects of Muspelheim fire, but here, War Thor just makes it rain a whole bunch of regular ol' H2O and the fires go out. It doesn't completely take me out of the story, but it would be nice for Aaron to not write stuff that he's just going to contradict himself on shortly after.
Other than that, this was another entertaining issue.
I'm delighted to watch Volstagg dance on the line between good and evil, where revenge can destroy anyone.
War Thor was on a rampage this issue next issue should be epic. Im inboard.
A great showdown with the Queen of Cinders and the War Thor here. Jason Aaron seems to be wrapping up some final plot points before we get to Legacy and the death of Lady Thor story arc. Not sure why there was a change in artist w/ this issue, as Dauterman has consistantly worked on Aaron's Thor run. Valerio Schiti is a great artist, but Dauterman has such a unique look in his Thor work, that it's obvious this issue doesn't match the previous ones. Otherwise a solid issue.
This book continues to be entertaining and fun, but this issue, while pretty good, isn't a standout. Valeri Schiti's art doesn't seem as good as usual here, and the Queen of Cinders' boasts grow stale.
Complete trash, as has been most of Jason Aaron´s run after that dreaded whisper, the only saving grace is the art.
