With a unique structure, and meta humor, the newest issue of U.S. Avengers is a kaiju-sized amount of fun. Read Full Review
Overall, not a very exciting issue. It does have some humorous moments and as I said, the art is very good. But it isn't just this issue, I'm just not really enjoying this book as a whole. Read Full Review
One Issue Event.
Now that's something I haven't seen before.
Can we do a hilarious parody of Monsters Unleashed *and* position ourselves for Secret Empire in just 20 pages? You bet! Al Ewing mocks crossovers in general, Marvel's latest lackluster example specifically, and also the shallowness of one of his own characters. All of the funny serves a higher purpose, and a solid Deadpool cameo certainly doesn't hurt. The parody structure (including four "faux cover" splash pages) does shortchange us a bit on content, though.
Another great issue. I can't help but cast Michael Cudlitz as Abraham Ford in the role of Maverick/Red Hulk.
SCORE: 7.9
Fun, but it has nothing to do with the U.S.Avengers.
It's stupid. But is it good. Yeah! The funny thing is this might tie in to Secret Empire lol. It's just good comedy enjoy it. Ewing, Medina, Vlasco and Aburtov are obviously having fun, so why shouldn't we.
Just like what happened in Champions, Secret Empire stops something good right before it was just about to become something great. This was obviously a filler issue and while I appreciate the humor it really didn’t work and it was obviously just filler before Secret empire.
