This is the sort of galaxy-brained Venom story that makes the character stand apart. Read Full Review
Venom #32 brings us the fight between this new version of Carnage and Eddie Brock and the Kings in Black. While we don't get to see everyone fight him, Carnage fighting Eddie and some of the others was still great with Ken Lashley's art. And speaking of, Carnage rules this comic as he takes on Eddie and the others in brutal and maniacal fashion the way only symbiotes can. The ending sets up a new direction for the Venom symbiote that may be a little divisive, but there's potential there for the characters of Dylan, Eddie and the Venom symbiote if it's handled well. I wish this came together a little better, especially with Ewing writing this, but it was still good for what it was. Lashley's art was nice throughout and I saw it as a bit of an improvement over his work in Carnage #5. The story here was interesting as well and I'm genuinely interested to see how it wraps up. Hopefully Grønbekk sticks the landing over in Issue 6 of Carnage.
I'm all about Ewing's Venom because his issues always hit different but this whole Carnage stuff just lost me especially with an art partner that delivered some poor pages. Let's hope it was a deadline that rushed his work.
It's decent. It has some cool parts, but overall seems lacking a little in terms of the punch it delivers.
