After hearing his name in Supergirl #6 and seeing Zor-El 'cured', we are definitely getting a more classic Cyborg Superman back in the DCU. Look at this panel by Segovia. The shading is hinting towards his Cyborg future. Look, as I said, the whole point of #Rebirth was to bring back the classic essence of these characters. In this issue we have just about as classic a Lois, bumbling Clark, and Henshaw. If any books have been resuscitated by Rebirth, it is the Superman books. Hooray for us fans! Read Full Review
Overall this is another solid issue of Action Comics, which is really prepping readers for the Superman Reborn Arc, but also doing some really interesting stuff itself. Jurgens’ really harkens back to that 90’s style of writing, but shows he has still got the talent to go with it. Read Full Review
Action Comics has steadily improved and the creative team has gotten this title back on track. If you gave up on it earlier, it's time to give it another chance. Read Full Review
As the tales title implies, the mysterious Clark Kent figures prominently in Mild Mannered Part One. However, the bespectacled reporters Daily Planet colleague, Lois Lane, likewise headlines an issue filled with surprises including unexpected appearances by several notable names! Read Full Review
We've got ourselves a duel story going on here and while I love that we're moving along at a fast pace to tell as much story as possible, I found myself mad that we couldn't focus on just one....... either one, it didn't matter. The point is, they're both interesting stories that I need to have the answers to and I can't wait to see what we get next, especially if the art remains as strong as it is here. Read Full Review
Stephen Segovia is also a very talented artist, but his style simply doesn't flow very well with Zircher's pages. By abruptly cutting from Segovia to Zircher on more than one occasion, this issue is less fun to read. But the story is fun and engaging, and that's the most important part of the equation. The prospect of Lois and Clark having the second first date " a mere 973 issues after their seminal first first date " imbibes Jurgens' Action run with some much-needed excitement. His recent “Men of Steel” arc was instantly forgettable, but the continuing saga of the seemingly human second Clark Kent is a contribution to the Superman mythos that is genuinely inspired and sure to leave a lasting legacy. The creepy Clark Kent story arc will probably be my favorite that Dan Jurgens has done so far. I have also enjoyed the use of Lois Lane as a lead and hope that the setup for the Superwoman side of the story has a good explanation to it.
This is building up really nice, I am really hyped for the things to come.
SCORE: 7.3
Well, I expected more Clark's secret identity. But good issue.
I'm more interested in Superwoman's disability than second Clark Kent's mystery, because this second one still doesn't move forward. I'm really waiting for answers in the next issue, because it's becoming really lengthy. Moreover, I'm eager to know what will become of Superwoman. Unusually, the art is quite weak in this issue. Many facial expressions are odd and some pages are a bit overloaded.
