The Stag and The Joker have kidnapped the Shadow's greatest allies and are preparing to enter Shamba-La. It's Batman and the Shadow's last stand-if they don't stop the evil duo from entering Shamba-La, it will mean an eternity of darkness in a world ruled by crime!
What have you been doing with your life if you havent been reading Batman/The Shadow? Seriously, this series is so good! Its well written, its well drawn, and the conclusion will be out next month so be sure to read all five issues that are out if you havent already! Read Full Review
This issue was a great read with interesting characters and visuals. I can't wait to see the dramatic conclusion next issue! Read Full Review
I'm feeling safe in saying, even with one issue to go, this is the best miniseries of 2017. The story is fantastic and the visuals incredible. Both heroes compliment each other, while the villains enhance the evil of the other. I will be purchasing this when it's collected, and if it's not released as a hardcover it would be a crime. Another gorgeously drawn issue that sets up the finale well. Read Full Review
Though BATMAN/THE SHADOW #5 is ultimately an energetic work, it does feel monotonous at times since the characters remain static in their respective developments. Read Full Review
This has been an especially good crossover, and I'm already looking forward to the sequel. Read Full Review

Overall, a good read! If you're following the tale, I'd say to keep at it! The writing is memorable, and the art is great fun to study. I'm excited for more renditions of The Batman Who Laughs, and so horror-Esque stories are my jam. I only wish this issue was as brutal as its last. I could always do with more interactions and team-upswith the Bat, so each issue is always a treat! Read Full Review
As penultimate issues go, this one isn't bad at all, but neither is it an unalloyed triumph. How much you'll enjoy it depends very much on how easily you can take Batman recovering from his fatal knife wound and how you feel about the issue's central revelation about The Stag. For me, there's enough here to keep me reading and Rossmo's art on occasion taps a wonderfully twisted and gothic vein. The series continues to ask interesting questions about the two main characters. Here's hoping we get some satisfying answers in next month's finale. Read Full Review
Batman/The Shadow has taken a turn from a psychological noir thriller to a somewhat generic beat'em up, and I can't pretend I'm not disappointed. Read Full Review
Someof my fellow Shadow fans have commented in the negative regarding the artwork, but I find it stylish in the same manner as the much-revered Mike Kaluta Shadowof the 1970s. Not that Rossmo is emulating Kaluta, but I think both have astyle that works. Where Rossmo fails is not in his rendering style, but in hisdepiction of The Shadow. It seems to Rossmo, The Shadow is simply a guy in hatand long cloak; a common super-hero. He fails to add and maintain the layer ofmystery that has captivated Shadow fans for decades. I have really enjoyed the crossover with DC & Dynamite for the Bat/and TheShadow I have really enjoyed what Mr. Orlando has written. Especially the whole thing about The Shadow and Batman's whole dynamic, and how the Shadow helped mold the Bat behind the scenes. This issue set up for the final issue of the 6 issue mini-series with the final showdown between Batman, the Shadow versus The Joker, and the Stag. So I can't wait for the last issue to see what happens, and after this series they are going to follow it up with another crossover with the same team but Dynamite, the main one this time instead of DC so it'll be The Shadow/Batman this time with the same team. I have enjoyed Steve Orlando and Snyder and Riley Rossmo's art is solid and gmore
Another great issue, though I will need to read the whole thing to fully appreciate it.
So glad DC and Dynamite commissioned a sequel so soon.
