All-star creators Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora deliver the next pulse-pounding chapter of Batman's journey during DC K.O., giving us the Dark Knight's greatest challenge yet. Jason Todd is Batman. Tim Drake is Batman. And to complete his mission, Bruce Wayne will have to fight both of them. The former Robins aren't giving up without a fight, and it will take everything Batman has-and then some-in order to defeat them. Does Batman have what it takes to defeat both of his pupils, or have the students become the masters?

Jan 07, 2026DC K.O.: Knightfight Issue 3 continues a battle of attrition. This is a test of nerves for both the Heart and Batman. For the Heart, it's an example of a human refusing to accept its rules and succumbing to its whims. Read Full Review

Jan 07, 2026It's really interesting how each of these worlds requires a different skill set, and that seems to make the entity even angrier as he prepares one final test for Batman one that shows him something very different, something that his life could be if he would only lay down his burdens. Jan 08, 2026It’s not such a wonderful life after all as Batman’s potential future hopping continues amidst DC Comics’ tournament style event. Everything about this series gels smoothly and really highlights the depths of Batman that don’t get used as much as they should be on a regular basis. A+ style work that can and should be read at any time. Read Full Review

Jan 07, 2026With both Scott Snyders Absolute Batman and Matt Fractions mainline Batman, it truly feels like Dark Knight fans are getting spoiled nowadays, and to top it all off, fans get this excellent story from Joshua Williamson. My recommendation: if you have read and enjoyed the previous two issues of DC K.O.: Knightfight, then issue three is a great pickup for you. Read Full Review

Jan 07, 2026Bruce Wayne's fight against the Heart Of Apokolips takes him into a few difficult spaces to find some semblance of hope. Williamson's writing casts Batman in a more optimistic place which feels fresh. Mora and Farrell craft a journey into Batman's fight against not only the Heart, but his inner thoughts as well. The stage is set for one epic final round. Read Full Review

Jan 23, 2026While the general overall concept of the series is pretty standard stuff, it's once again the combination of the script and artwork that elevates that concept. It's just incredibly fun, even if it's simply doing a variation on showing other fake timelines in order to manipulate Batman. It's done so well that you're drawn into each of the worlds that the Heart conceives and want to see more of it, which is something that the team should be proud of. I'd love to basically spend a good miniseries or more in each of these worlds just to see what kinds of stories can be told. It's moving along pretty quickly and provides a nice way to cage off Batman during the early part of the event so that others get to step up. It puts some good challenges to him, but it has delved into some really good character material as well. Just fantastically fun. Read Full Review

Jan 07, 2026DC K.O.: Knightfight #3 continues to surprise by redefining what it means to "break Batman, using alternate worlds and emotional truth instead of sheer force. With Dan Mora's stunning visuals and Williamson's deep understanding of the Bat-family, the series proves its real strength lies in forcing Bruce to confront the lives his legacy creates, and the ones it might undo. Jan 08, 2026DC K.O.: Knightfight #3 is a masterclass in clickbait. A series that promises an all-out brawl between father and sons turns into a tasteful character study of what makes each Robin unique and how Bruce views each one. Read Full Review

Jan 12, 2026Alas, the next issue is the last in this epic mini-series and I’m super looking forward to it. Especially with the high stakes of Batman potentially being reintroduced into the Tournament to become the King Omega! That is however, if he can overcome the wealth of emotions Williamson is sure to take us through with Bruce Wayne being face-to-face with his Grandson by the name of Alfred—it really hits you in all of the Bat-feels. Jan 07, 2026DC K.O. Knightfight #3 swings wildly between genuine character work and confusing narrative sprawl, creating a reading experience that frustrates more than it engages. The Tim Drake sequence proves Williamson understands emotional storytelling and can use the psychological torture premise effectively, but the murder mystery section feels like filler that doesn't justify its page count. Mora's artwork carries the visual storytelling competently despite tonal chaos, but even his skills can't fully overcome the structural confusion. The issue exists in an awkward middle space, too ambitious to be straightforward entertainment and too unclear to function as intentional mind-bending storytelling. Read Full Review

And next issue we get "for the Batman who has everything", the retelling of Alan Moore's classic Superman story. And I'm ok with that. I enjoyed that I was surprised with the Damian approach. I thought it would be the Morrison Damian 666 Batman.

Transparently super fan servicey but it works for me especially with Mora's art.

One thing I don't like about Williamson writing the Robins is that he only knows how to appeal to the reader's emotions or fanboy side. On the positive side, the art.
