Who Are the Vigil? Arclight file loading... The identity of Arclight, a known member of the rogue metahuman group the Vigil, is unknown at this time. However, observations conclude that he is the leader of the group, which also consists of Dodge, Saya, and Castle...among other possible members unknown at this time. Evidence shows there is a link between Arclight's military history with the pirates who have taken control of a boat along the coast of Thailand and the island destination where the contents of the boat were headed. What secrets does this island contain, and is it another government experiment covered up as a conspiracy only belmore
This is such a good book mixing superheroes and international espionage. Arclight makes for a complicated antihero and perhaps even a leader for this subversive team. The characters are solid yet enigmatic, and, along with the other disturbing things happening behind their backs, I cannot wait to see where the operation leads them. Read Full Review
Issue #2 expands the introduction of the previous issue and develops the overarching plot points in a well-paced reading experience. The art is great and for those interested in the series, this is a great time to pick up the first and second issue. Read Full Review
The Vigil continues to walk the line of superheroes and super spies in an intriguing second issue. It's unclear where it's all going, but the weird and mysterious are laid on thick enough to make you want more. There's something special here, blending The Manchurian Candidate with superheroes. There are some very intriguing supernatural mysteries around the fringes of the series that make me think Ram V is building a potential classic here. It's another win for one of DC's best writers at the moment. Read Full Review
I don't think this series is as good as it could (or maybe should) be but that isn't to say it's bad. The potential just needs to be realized. That primarily means a stronger focus on character going forward. I hope that can happen because if it does, we could have something really special on our hands here. For now, I recommend it but there are other DC books that may be better worth your time if you're on a budget. Read Full Review
Its still too early to predict quite which direction Ram V is going to take the series in. The darkness is nice, but it needs to have something to contrast against it for it to have any definition at all. These ARE super-heroic types, and there DOES need to be some sense of wonder for it to feel appealing enough to keep the pages turning. For the time being, however, Ram V has a story to tell. And its a story covered in pain and shadows. Read Full Review
Giving off some strong Frankenstein / Island of Dr. Moreau mad scientist vibes, the second issue again puts one character front and center while allowing others to work in the background. Read Full Review
The Vigil is recognizable and capably told, but not terribly intriguing as of yet. Read Full Review
Vigil #2 is a serviceable issue that helps readers get to know the team member known as Arclight. The character's past traumas and present motivations are spelled out clearly, and readers get a good look at his powers in action. Sadly, Ram V uses this issue to start up multiple, seemingly disconnected plot threads, leading to a messy, frustrating read. Read Full Review
A strange, brutal tale featuring a lot of back-and-forth in time that never quit settles down enough to cohere. Read Full Review
Note: This review is bias, as this book is just like an Indian version of a Doom Patrol/Suicide Squad cross and I like the DP so...
Anyway, this book is full of action as we get to know the character Arclight better. These people are 'heroes' but more grey. The Doctor who leads them all is also what you might call 'sus'. Watching members of the team operate is great. Watching a man who has lost his family try to save an out of control child is also nice. Fun all around.
Great action. Awesome art.
There are a lot of plotlines all going on at once though so it might be a bit confusing to some. The main one is Arclight though.
Out of the We are legends books, this is by far the strongest.
I am all in on this! Ram v does it again I love pretty much everything he writes and the vigil is no exception. I can't wait for the next issue
