We're at the conclusion of the Children of Gods arc in Wonder Woman and it is quite epic. Read Full Review
Robinson ends the issue with some plot threads unresolved, which is a good sign he plans to pay them off eventually. Given the quality of this first arc, Wonder Womans new creative team has a good handle on the character and isnt afraid to take Diana into a bold new direction. Read Full Review
Wonder Woman #37 was an epic issue and I loved the banter between Zeus and Darkseid with Diana just a pawn in the battle. Now with Darkseid back, the DCU will definitely change and I don't think this god will ignore Wonder Woman for too long. All in all, it was a well written issue that gave us a decent ending with some brilliant art by Carlo Pagulayan who definitely delivered a summer blockbuster. Read Full Review
This is a solid issue. It's a cool fight with some great art that is worth seeing. The narration is obnoxious but it doesn't kill the issue. It's an enjoyable read. Read Full Review
The Children of the Gods concluded with an issue that tied everything up well. Overall the arc was a good one, with the only real criticism of Diana being an almost secondary character for much of it. Now that this arc had concluded it will be interesting to see whether Diana plows headlong into another emotional rollercoaster of if she actually takes some time digest all shes been through in the last couple of arcs. WONDER WOMAN #37 provides amazing large-scale action in spite of a plot unfitting of its characters. The issue is a great reminder that visuals are half of comics, and a good artist can easily be the star of any given issue. For that reason, theres definitely no reason to shy away from this issue or arc, especially if you were a fan of Paz or Pagulayan beforehand. Read Full Review
The revival of Darkseid's power and strength has come. The world, including the old gods and new, are in danger. What can Diana do? What will Jason do with the new information he has been told? Will the twins of Zeus learn to work together to overcome these pressing issues and help save the world? Read Full Review
Despite an epic and beautiful fight between the gods, the conclusion of the Children of the Gods arc fell flat in terms of storytelling. Read Full Review
You get everything you probably expected out of this issue and because of that.......... Well, it comes off a bit underwhelming. Yeah, the art looks great and you have some pretty epic fight scenes, but it may as have been paint by numbers because just looking at it, you knew everything that was going to go down. Hopefully going forward, we can do some cool and interesting things with Jason and Diana...... and even Darkseid, but this initial arc just left me wanting. Read Full Review
This was a satisfying but abrupt end to this story. The art was stunning but the ending left much to be desired. I'm curious to see where this book goes now that Robinson should be telling his own stories going forward. Read Full Review
I loved the fight scenes in this issue, and not just because I've been waiting for some violence for more than one issue. They were pretty well done on the whole, considering the scale of the fight (Zeus vs. Darkseid = massive destruction). Once again the backgrounds in this issue were outstanding, even if they did get sort of messed up courtesy of the battle. Read Full Review
This run has a lot of problems, but one of the biggest is that it makes what should be spectacular feel small and boring. That's never clearer than with this issue, which features the return of two of the biggest figures in the DCU. Read Full Review
Overall this is a so-so wrap up to a previously wonderful run and one of the few missteps of Wonder Womans Rebirth. Read Full Review
Apparently after looking at solicitations, the aftermath of this arc is gonna continue after the silver swan arc. And maybe in Trinity as well.
It wasn’t bad, but there wasn’t much too it. It was pretty obvious Darkseid wanted Zeus’ energy. Not great art for fight scenes. A whole lot of nothing.
OK, Darkseid is back. Can we now move to an actual Wonder Woman story?
Art was amazing. Story was annoying. When wonder woman is in full battle rage, it's awesome. But they pulled her punches to bring back Darkseid. God forbid we change the fucking status quo. At least her dumbass brother is still around, hoo-fucking-ray.
