If you are just looking for a fun time in the Dark Nights: Metal story, you might want to avoid this. On the other hand, if you want something to challenge you to interpret, then go out and pick this up. While the story itself is all forms of insane, the art takes advantage of this trip and gives us something nightmarish yet delightful to look at. It's not for everyone, but for the minority who enjoy such bizarre tales, they will certainly enjoy this one.

While not action packed, it's incredibly emotional as it ties up the end of the war. While it will be a while till we see a Flash crossover of this magnitude again, I can't wait to see where both our scarlet speedsters will go from here. I highly recommend this issue, especially if you are a fan of Wally West.

Flash #758
July 21, 2020
|
|
Overall, this issue sets up the final arc pretty well. The plan of Eobard Thawne is one we've heard before in several comics, but the way it's executed will have readers wanting to know more. The only real downside of the story is how underutilized the Legion of Zoom actually was, but for all we know, they'll be back for the final story. The art team makes up for that little misstep with incredible artwork and character designs. This was a great issue as we move on towards the end.

While beautiful to look at, the epilogue of this story has a major break in logic in the aftermath. While it is nice to see Damian and Jon grow as characters, the lack of problem-solving from the Titans drag the issue down hard. If you stayed with this arc up to this point, I would say pick it up. If not, take a pass on it.

While it isn't as great as the first issue, there is still some cool stuff in this one. Along with some kick-ass action, we get Clark building up to become a hero through training and a chance encounter with Atlantis. The art sadly doesn't hold up, but hopefully can get itself back on track as we approach the final issue. Overall, a decent read for a neat retelling of the Superman origin.
