From ancient Rome to the roaring twenties to the 1980s music scene, Corbin and Danny— the world’s first time travelers—continue to wreak havoc with the time-stream, and get into more hijinks with some of history’s most notorious figures! And it’s all happening while the world—and their bosses—are watching!
If you're looking for a great series with insane and over the top action and adventures, you really need to be reading CHRONONAUTS. Mark Millar and Sean Murphy throw out the traditional rules about time travel and pretty much let it all hang out (just look at the cover). Sean Murphy's art is incredible. I just can't get enough of this series. It's unfortunate there's only one more issue. Hopefully we'll see more really really soon. If you're not reading this book, you need to fix that right away. As I mentioned before, this story has Hollywood blockbuster written all over it, but there's plenty of scope for further development into an ongoing series, so hopefully next month's concluding issue won't be the last we hear of Chrononauts in comic book form. Read Full Review
If you are a fan of comics that are fun and don't take themselves too seriously, then Chrononauts is for you. Corbin and Danny have the type of bromance that all-star comedic pairings are made of. Toss in the time travel aspect and you have a recipe for greatness. Read Full Review
Chrononauts essentially assaults the senses here and takes you on quite the ride. I'll admit, a lot of attention at the moment is on the visual thrill of the Mad Max: Fury Road movie. While I don't expect the Chrononauts film to match it, if they manage to capture even half the energy of this book in this particular issue with its crazy chase sequence across time, they'll definitely be striving for some lofty but attainable goals. There's a crazy kind of fun to all of this as the guys ride it out as best as they can, and the collateral damage is just striking in seeing it all unfold. I can't help but wonder about some of the mechanics of all of this, having been raised on hard science fiction, but I'm able to push it off to the side simply to enjoy the surreal and hilarious run that we get here. Danny and Corbin are definitely far too much fun to watch in this form. Read Full Review
About as big and bombastic of any comic of the action movie persuasion you're going to get. Read Full Review
Chrononauts #3 is a wild thrill-ride that takes everything you're used to in a time travel story and blows it up. Millar and Murphy aren't holding back when it comes to a crazy tale and the energy they fill this story with is impressive. Chrononauts is just crazy fun and that's something I can always use more of. Millar and Murphy have got a winner here. Read Full Review
Next issue concludes the series. If the first 3 issues are anything to go by, it's going to be a spectacular finale. Read Full Review
Leave it to Mark Millar and Sean Murphy to make time travel fun and exciting again. Read Full Review
This is just an absolutely gorgeous issueand itcant stress that enough. Theres not much left in this story arc, so those already invested should stick with it. This is a just fun ride, plain and simple.Oh, and Morrissey is in it! Read Full Review
Chrononauts may not be the series that I had hoped, sometimes feeling like nothing more than a convenient movie plot, but that doesn't mean that it's completely terrible. That being said, it is hard to overlook the lack of depth in this tale, as though the actions of Dr. Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly are fun, it's not till the end that there's anything that captivates (bar the art that is). With only one issue to go I'll see the series to its end, but feel a little disheartened that Millar seems to both ignore what makes the series good and throws away a lot of potential for what could've made a great series if it had been a little longer and more ambitious. Read Full Review
CHRONONAUTS #3 is a very fun comic that is worth your money, I just really wish it was more of what hooked me in at the beginning instead of veering off into generic time travel romp. Read Full Review
All in all, it's not bad. It's just not good either. It falls into that pit of average and is dangerously close to sinking into below average territory. And it's all over in the next issue" which at this point I'll read it, but my expectations from the first issue to the last have fallen so steeply that there's really nothing that this story can do that will save the series; in fact, it'll probably go the opposite way. Fun issue
Fun series. Glad it's short and the big questions don't have to be addressed.
It's kind of like, Dukes of Hazard crossed with Back to the Future.
