MINISERIES FINALE
Our story comes to an earth-shattering conclusion as Valofax meets its maker, Roy learns what it means to be a father, and Emmett Quinlan confronts God in the dying Kingdom of Always...
'God Country' is a lot of things, some you expect, some you don't. It's very much an epic fantasy tale but that's just the gateway to the heart of the story - family. To what lengths would one go to, to hold on to a lifetime of memories, of those you loved? For Emmett Quinlan, not even all-powerful gods will stand in his way. 'God Country' is a limited series of great depth and complexity. In the end, it's about the power of love, family, and legacy. It's also one of the best comics of the year. Read Full Review
Most of us have dealt with the horrors of seeing a loved one succumb to the product of old age. It is tragic to see anyone lose who they are and not be able to remember the people they once loved. In all its larger than life fantasy God Country never forgot what was at the heart of this story. Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw could have easily filled this issue with melodrama as they piled on the tragedy. Instead God Country has worked on all levels. This crazy tale has its fun and exciting moments along with all the dread. When victory occurs there are moments of glee and when the finale does come there is a bitter sweetness to it all. Simply it is art in its purest form. This is how you announce to the world you are a creative team that is out to impact the industry. Read Full Review

I have said it ad nauseam in each review and with the series comes to an end I will say it again. Everyone needs to go read this series, like right now. It's been a pleasure to read and I am beyond sad that this is the final issue. However, Cates, Shaw, Wordie, and Hill finished it off in the best way possible. Seriously go pick this one up. God Country is a story with heart, complexities, and so much more than the beat 'em up super heroics approach to telling a great tale for readers to appreciate. Cates and Shaw should be proud of the world they've built for this mini-series (why you do us like that though? Only six issues?), and need to lock in that movie deal ASAP. God Country built an incredible journey through alzheimer's as an illness to express how far someone will go in order to hold onto something as precious as a memory and life as they knew it. If you haven't read this series, then you're missing out on one of the best stories in fiction this year. Read Full Review
God Country #6 is a satisfying conclusion to Donny Cate's and Geoff Shaw's epic tale of Quinlan family. The scope of this series was big being about “gods”, wars and such, but yet it was a small family tale that is the heart and “meat” of the story. God Country is all about family and is truly a heart warming story from beginning to end and has been one of the best books of 2017 so far. God Country will grab you attention and keep you with it from beginning to end so don't wait “Come and Take it!” Read Full Review
I know i'm late to GOD COUNTRY(i came here after reading CROSSOVER(2020) #4) but all i can say it WOW!!! That was brilliant. Yes the series though being of only 6 issues, did have some weak moments but that ending was very emotional and powerful. Overall, a superb series by Donny Cates and his team.
"God Country" #6 blows its comic competition out of the water. A powerful, moving, emotional conclusion to this epic tale. There is so much good about this issue, but a double-page collage of a father passing on his experience, the story of his life, to his son stands out. I was almost moved to tears reading this, which something that almost never happens when I read comics. This is so great. The creative team has been locked down by Marvel, and I can't wait to see what they bring to the House of Ideas.
I would say that this is as nearly a perfect ending as possible for a miniseries of this quality. This has been one of the best indie series in recent history and I would recommend it to anyone interested in reading something that is both quick and fulfilling. I am excited to see what Donny Cates does next with his career.
God Country is the best comic book I have ever read. That may sound like hyperbole, but this is the first time a comic has ever actually brought me to tears. I cannot recommend this issue or miniseries enough. If you haven't given it a shot yet, well, I've got nothing else for ya.
And he sticks the landing at the finish line!
honestly one of my favorite runs from Donny Cates
It's excellent. Minus 1 because it's over.
