The fourth arc ends with a bang! If Dylan can't get to the trouble, well...it'll just come to him. Trapped in an insane asylum, Dylan fights for his life and whatever future he may have! And don't forget, every issue of KILL OR BE KILLED contains extra back pages, articles, and art!
I've loved Kill or Be Killed for a majority of it's run and it brings me a sadness to know it is ending soon. However, I am pleased to report it seems to be ending on a satisfying note so far producing the writing and artistic quality it has maintained since it's inception. A lot of this payoff will have to deal with the ending (which is shocking to say the least), but readers should have confidence and high hopes. Brubaker and Phillips haven't let us down so far. With beautifully staged debates about justice and corruption and a chilling, closing action sequence, Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, and Bettie Breitweiser turn in virtuosic shadow drenched and snow blown work inKill or Be Killed#19. I can't wait to see how this grounded lofi (at times) approach to the vigilante genre ends… Read Full Review
This is one issue that has to be read to be appreciated and fans of the series certainly won't be disappointed by how it plays out. Read Full Review
Kill or Be Killed #19 is slow to start and has its occasional dips, but the overall book is quite enjoyable. The main character has a lot of personality, the action sequence is great, and the artwork is fantastic. This one is recommended, even if youre new to the series. Feel free to check it out. This, the second last, is a stunning issue of "Kill or be Killed." Sean Phillips creates the perfect backdrop for these scenes with his brilliant depiction of the winter streets and the claustrophobia of the mental wards. The philosophy is clearly established in the first few pages of narration by Brubaker, and his story almost allows Dylan a moment of nihilistic victory, before a conclusion that reveals we have almost come to an end with all of this. This comic was just so intense and so suspenseful, I was captivated throughout. Awesome stuff.
I was just talking to a friend the other day about things I don't want to see happen with this story coming to end. The last page of this issue is a game changer and was exactly one of the things I didn't want to happen, but I have such faith in Ed Brubaker (Possibly my favorite writer) that he will pull this off in an interesting manner. This issue was awesome and really brought a lot of interesting pages to the table. Again, Im skeptical about what transpired on the last page and how that could really hinder how this all ends, but Im hoping that the last issue does the series right.
