Despite the let down of the art, I still recommend picking up this book. Ahmed story is clever enough to stand on it's own merit. The subject is clearly chosen to get people more excited about the upcoming Venom movie. Ahmed delivers a compelling single issue tale that provides a unique look at a classic story-line without revising it. Read Full Review

An offering of action sequences, alien gaslighting, and a great splash page will give fans of these two characters something they will likely enjoy, but there's not much to lend this story depth or legs. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Harlan Ivester Sep 19, 2018

Oof. I really hope this was just a fluke, because I want to read a good Miles Morales book again. Even $3.99 would be too high a price of admission for a story that just feels so meaningless, with no convincing character interactions to make up for its narrative. It ain’t eye candy, either. It’s not god awful, but… No matter how much you like Spider-Man’s black suit, or the symbiote, or annuals or whatever, you likely won’t be happy with this book. Skip it. Read Full Review
