A solid issue that leads into Secret Empire #0 well. Read Full Review
If you are only reading this book because of Secret Empire I would recommend that you read the four books in order to get the full effect and I would highly recommenced reading them all. While I have only heard bad things about this book I find myself enjoying every minute of it and the art is a perfect compliment to this story. Read Full Review
The latest issue of Captain America: Steve Rogers is a prime example of what can go wrong when using multiple artists whose styles don't compliment each other. Read Full Review
This issue finally brought all the major pieces together and tied together the complicated politics of Earth-616, going as far as killing the few people who have realized that Cap is Hydra and his reality has been altered and manipulated. Captain America plays to this world's fears and anger to manipulate the populace into believing that Hydra will help them. There seems to be little hope that Cap will remember who he is. However, with the Cosmic Cube back in play, this could change. My prediction is that this series will end with Cap's death at Capitol Hill. Read Full Review

I love Captain Hydra so Much, i like what Nick Spencer did with Captain America, i hype 4 Secret Empire #HailHydra
Sets up Secret Empire. More details and origin in every issue. Got to love it!
This book was good. There's a lot in here to digest and a lot of the plot holes have been explained well. This issue shows how Spencer had this all planned out.
Art can be better but I ignored the was art because I was so into the story and I didn't want to miss anything. The material is dense and this book is high on dialogue but good dialogue.
I love this run of CAPTAIN AMERICA. If the art, this issue had been just a little more consistent, this issue would have scored substantially higher.
SCORE: 7.8
I would give this issue a much higher grade if the artwork were better. The art was inconsistent... good on some pages, weaker on other pages. I found that the art took away from the story. It distracted me. By the way, the story was quite compelling.
Inconsistent art pulled me out of the story, especially towards the back half of the book.
Well, I read "Secret Empire" #0 first, so...whatever. Now that the event is started, can we finally be done with the fucking flashbacks of young Hydra Steve? I wonder if I need to even keep buying this in the midst of "Secret Empire." I have decided that I don't need to know anything the main title doesn't tell me.
Steve takes full command of Hydra and launches the organization against the world. There are a few silver linings (Kobik's out of Hydra's hands) but also an awful lot of bad news (Bucky and Dr. Selvig are apparently dead). This issue confuses "mature drama" with "relentless grimness" and it's pretty tough going. The smorgasbord of artists, including my anti-favorite Jon Malin, certainly doesn't help me buy into the drama. This sets a bad precedent for the upcoming event because it's momentous but not enjoyable; reading this feels like an obligation, a price I'm paying to get up to speed with Secret Empire. There are some emotional and thought-provoking scenes in here, but again, grim and poorly-illustrated.
When Marvel KILLED James Barnes, who is one of my favorite characters, made me soooooooooooo MAD!!!! But wait, he didn't die Namor saved him in the last minute. Secret Empire was really really really REALLY stupid!
