Jason Aaron not only magnifies Conan the Barbarians characteristics wonderfully but he also builds an overly entertaining story that this reader has never seen before in a Conan narrative. The issue is fast-paced, enjoyable, and actually helps make the overarching story feel more complete. Read Full Review

To meet your maker is one thing, to meet a god and stand before them defiant, challenging and determined to do what you feel you must regardless of their dictate… that is courage, that is Conan! How could you not want to get the issue in which Conan stands before his oft named God and holds his own? This really is a must have… it sits perfectly fine as a stand along story that fits within the larger Conan mythology and can be enjoyed at any time regardless of what other story arc you might be reading. Highly recommended. Read Full Review

Mahmud Asrar's art is the perfect complement to this story. The art is beautiful, sweeping and brutal. The mountains and backgrounds are gorgeous and the characters look amazing. The confrontation between Conan and Crom is awesome. I love the look of this issue. Read Full Review

This story, for what it is worth, pleases me, with a bold story and strong artwork. I'll be eagerly awaiting the final chapter next month, though I'll be sad to see this story end. Read Full Review

Here is a look into the heart mind and soul of a Barbarian King. We look deep into Conan's psyche as he tries to deal with the changes going on around him. He faces the ultimate challenge in this tale of a world turned upside down. He questions his faith and may not like the answers he gets as he sees a god that's not so kind and loving. But his courage never wavers. This issue sets us up for the next issue which should be bigger and better! ***1/2 (8.7 rating) Read Full Review
