The art work by David Marquez is a veritable feast for the eyes. I loved the sense of motion he brought to the fight between our two heres and Diamond Back. Read Full Review

There's a strong case to be made for The Defenders being crowned the best-looking comic book on the stands right now. Read Full Review

The Defenders #4 is an excellent “conclusion” to the first arc. The events that happened in these first four issues are definitely going to affect the group for some time. The creative team has been most excellent in this series and you really couldn't ask for more out of them. If you like street level super hero action, then The Defenders is what you need. Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil make a great team that hopefully sticks around for a long time. Read Full Review
I am loving this book. I cannot speak highly enough of it. They have the perfect writer and perfect artist for the cast. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy immediately. Read Full Review
In short, Bendis has done a great job with Defenders, but he wobbled a bit on the landing. Still, the potential in this series is a lot higher than most, and this is definitely a series to keep your eye on. Read Full Review
The Defenders#4 is a fun cap to a very enjoyable opening arc. Bendis knows how to write team books and he knows how to write these characters. But David Marquez turns this into a truly strong book, and well worth picking up. Check it out digitally or in our local comic book shop now! Read Full Review
Gets better and better. People have been doubting this series since issue #1... but I knew they were setting up for an amazing arc. The art is INCREDIBLE. Seriously... Do not ever change this artist. Don't do it, keep him on this book. Please.
Now that's an issue 4! Moved the story along, the banter was good, but most importantly beautiful action. Would have been a 10 but no one explained how Danny instantly fixed his spine.
This is a great issue of "The Defenders." The action scenes between Diamondback and Jessica/Danny are creatively and very effectively laid out. The dialogue is sharp and the plot is tight and crisp. Bendis and Marquez are really delivering with this series. The producers of the Netflix show could learn something from this series.
Hook me up!
Another great issue, I love seeing Danny and Jessica kicking some ass, great art. How is Jessica's car still working!? Don't sleep on this series, it is shaping up to be one of Marvel's strongest on the stands right now.
Defenders is slowly but surely taking form. The Gary joke is classic Bendis humor and it made me laugh out loud. Willis Stryker is outrageously overpowered but based on the last page...I think I’ll like what’s coming. The art is pure eye candy
Some background on Diamondback's current criminal endeavors combines with a pretty satisfying fight scene that lands him in police custody. The focus of the title is starting to spread out a little too quickly (Ben Urich is filling in for Daredevil this month, apparently) and I'm disinclined to give Mr. Bendis too much credit for tying into his other titles. This issue connects to Spider-Man #17 in a way that's less "fun easter egg" and more "crass cross-promotion." Along with the script, the visuals are also looking slightly less polished here. This is still an excellent book, it's just not quite the tour-de-force that the first three issues were.
This continues to be one of the best reads when it hits the stands. The dynamic between the character is great and the art is just too good. Overall, you can not go wrong with Defenders. Can't wait to kick off the next arc!
