While there are a few missed opportunities that are a little bit of a letdown, very little else about Giant-Sized X-Statix is. This is a strong comeback for older readers and an attractive and entertaining prospect for new readers. There's a lot of focus on the new U-Go Girl and some tongue-in-cheek moments that mock reboot/remix culture, but I wish this issue would have had a more solid ending, rather than a tease for the upcoming series.Even so, I enjoy what we got. Read Full Review
X-Statix was the strangest X-Series on the shelves at the time of its release. It's also one of my favorite titles of all time. The title was an underrated gem and worth tracking down if you can get your hands on the series.
One of the selling points of the original run was the team's body count. New characters would be introduced in one issue and be killed off in the next. The book famously began as an X-Force relaunch with the entire advertised team killed off in the first issue.
This issue picks up some time in the future. Some of the team members remain dead. Others have retired and have moved on. In some instances, the children of the original X-Statix team have taken on their parent's mantles. The plot reminded more

This is all about legacy, in the most ridiculous and contrived manner possible, and it would be terrible stuff if the original X-Statix creative team weren't on board and better than ever. One-of-a-kind art and prose with a magic ability to balance between inane and profound: This one-shot has exactly what it needs to resurrect the X-Statix.
Holy shit, I enjoyed a Peter Milligan comic for once.
I’ll start with what I liked it. I’m trying really hard not to over exaggerate rn but I really want to declare that the Allreds are my favorite comic artists ever. Besides that, love how Milligan remembered Katie, who was introduced back during his original X-Statix run. But besides that, I hate all the retcons. Terrible. So so many retcons. Marvel needs to let characters stay dead
It was OK. Not my cup of tea. The Allreds made it worth the read. I guess I'm skipping next year's new series.
Less of a one-off like I expected, more of a set-up issue for something else we'll get in a year from now. I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't a better standalone experience.
