OLD MAN LOGAN #20 concludes "Gone Real Bad" by sending Logan to the past! Jeff Lemire's plot devices are brilliant, and the artwork from Filipe Andrade and Jordan Boyd create a very rough and serious tone. This issue is a must! Read Full Review
Think of Old Man Logan #19 and #20 as appetizers ahead of what will hopefully be a solid meal. It won't fill you up, but it also won't send you home before the main course arrives. Read Full Review
It's disappointing to see Old Man Logan lose so much steam this close to the end of Jeff Lemire's run. This arc always faced an uphill battle without Andrea Sorrentino's art to fall back on, but it suffers further from a dull, straightforward storyline that feels stretched out even at a mere two issues. Hopefully the series can only rebound from here. Read Full Review
Solid story can't compensate for rancid art. What is going on?
This was the fill in the holes issues and it was good for what it was. We got the plot and what to expect later on in the story. The art of Andrade and Boyd was ok nothing special. I really do hope the story gets amped up next issue.
Logan gets an evil sorcerer to blast him back in time, setting up a new arc about his past. First up: The war of 1812. I don't feel at all guilty about spoiling this "twist." The utterly contrived way that the complexities of Logan's trip were dodged throughout the issue made it clear well in advance that we weren't gonna end up in the Wasteland. Filipe Andrade closes his guest artist stint with a half-great half-lazy performance that echoes the shortcomings of Jeff Lemire's script.
