IT BEGINS HERE!!
This was just a fun issue, with a lot of fantastic little touches that show why Otto is so different from Peter. I love the idea that Otto waits until the most opportunistic moment to strike during a gang war, and how he trusts the police and fire department to do their jobs, whereas Peter would have thrown himself into every single emergency and pushed himself beyond his reach in order to save everyone. It's a fascinating comparison between the two men, and one I look forward to seeing fully explored. Beyond that, Otto just seems to be enjoying himself, and that translates to a better comic. His date with Anna was super cute, and I want to see more of the two of them. I also liked the idea of MJ moving on. And beyond the relationship stuff, Slott is building some good conflict in the background, from the police investigation to a new Green Goblin scheme. Overall, Superior Spider-Man is exciting, fresh, and amazing (natch). It's given us a whole new era in Spider-Man stories and the fact that people are so passionate, either for or against it, just shows that, despite everything, Slott is doing something right because people are constantly talking. Another issue in a series that I really can't believe works as well as it does. I was hooked hard in the first five issues with the trade that I got on the cheap digitally and working through the series in singles from there has been a real treat. This installment is definitely a jumping on point, but the whole series so far is just a must-read work that has me loving it. This installment gives us some good story starting material, solid character pieces and progress, decent action and some fantastic artwork from Ryan Stegman once again. Something big is definitely brewing and the Goblin King revealed at the end is the focal point of it all. He knows Otto's tech, and has even managed to bring many of Otto's enemies together to put an end to Otto's violent watch over New York. Ryan Stegman's artwork is unfortunately mixed in this issue. The problem lies mainly in the inking, which is a joint effort between Stegman himself and Edgar Delgado. The blacks are frequently too thick, jagged, and haphazard, leading to an overall more loose and hurried look for the series. Hopefully that will change when Stegman returns for his next stint. I am SO happy the Green Goblin is back. He popped up a few issues back but seeing him here and outwitting Superior Spider-Man was great. I'm excited for a few meeting with Superior Spider-Man and Goblin is right up there with Venom and Scarlet Spider-Man, both of which are coming up in the year. Read Full Review
Yet another solid issue from this series. It's consistently entertaining and consistently rewards the reader who's been following along. In the same sense, anyone just joining us will have plenty of things fly over their head. In that sense, this series sets itself apart from most comics these days. Most issues recap thoroughly or can be enjoyable even if you're not following along. It's a double edged sword then, that this is so good, but not for everyone. Read Full Review
Otto Octavius may have won his recent battle against 'Peter Parker' but it looks like there's some big trouble brewing. Dan Slott continues to develop the direction Otto is taking Spider-Man and as hard as it is to think about, you can't help but want to see how it's all going to play out. You can see that Otto's arrogance will get the better of him. There's no way the battle with Peter is over. Ryan Stegman makes it all look so good. You'll find yourself pausing to look at everything in the panels. With the return of a certain Spider-Man threat, it's going to be great to see how prepared Otto will be. This may not be the Spider-Man you grew up with but, man oh man, there's just no telling what Slott is going to do next. That's what makes it all so interesting. Read Full Review

Ryan Stegman’s art is great as always. I’ve really been happy with what he’s brining to the title. It’s not the greatest, some of the facial expressions really don’t hit home as much as they could, but everything is fun. He brings fun to the title, which is what seems to be the overall theme of the arc. You know this isn’t permanent, so you’re not too worried about the status quo. You’re just enjoying the ride and having a fun time with some friends, new and old. Read Full Review
This issue will be collected as the final part of the second trade of Superior Spider-Man, and yet it feels like a fresh start and new beginning for our leading man. It doesn't quite reach the heights of last issue's intense battle, but the chess pieces are in motion for an explosive confrontation further down the line which will be interesting to see indeed. The artwork continues to be stellar, and it's very clear that Dan Slott knows exactly what he's doing with this series. Read Full Review
Even though the main plot made close to no progress, Slott still manages to give us a lot of impending plot points that does promise a good future for the series and deals with the repercussions of the last issue, while Ryan Stegman and Edgar Delgado both impress with their work. Ultimately, "Superior Spider-Man" #10 moves the story of Otto Octavius' greatest victory forward, adding more subplots and developments while inserting depth into the existing subplots. Slott and Stegman do a fine job of balancing action, intrigue and character development, giving readers a chance to join Peter and J. Jonah Jameson at dinner with Aunt May and JJJ's dad as well as Peter's date with his sometime-tutor Anna Marconi. There's a lot of story packed into this issue as the Superior Spider-Man makes his stranglehold on Peter Parker's life just a little more treacherous. As though calling a poker bluff, Slott sees that threat and raises the stakes just a bit more. Read Full Review

Peter is finally gone - and though I loved the book before this issue, #10 has brought the series to a new level. If Daredevil hadn't dished out one of the best comics in the past few years this week, this issue would be my issue of the week. But seriously: Slott is on a tear with this book. It's fun. It's quippy. It's smart, action-packed, wonderfully written, and it has several moments involving MJ that tug at the heart-strings. I can't say enough about this title: read it.
Another solid issue with a few more appearances from some of the classic characters that Spidey fans love. I though maybe this series wouldn't work now that Peter Parker has been completely banished from his own body since the last issue but I still found this issue to be a lot of fun. A battle with a familiar foe seems to be on the way.
