An above average Superior issue, because of the art singing and the plots being cut back a bit. Once again Slott advances things nicely, which helps keep the anticipation up. But I think the best part of The Superior Spider-Man truly continues to be the fact that in spite of everything going on, it all feels like it's leading somewhere. Often, the problem with juggling so many different story threads is that they all feel disconnected. Yes, this may have been the case in the past, when we knew very little, but the more that we learn about where Slott is heading with this saga, the more we start to see just how connected everything is and how it all dovetails nicely. In fact, there's no sign at all that this series is going to slow down at all, instead building to what looks to be a crescendo moment that will bring everything to a head. As it is, this is the main thing that drives the story forward and makes us look forward to the issue each and every month. Of course, it helps when it has great art to complement it too. But THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN continues to impress with issue #21, and I'm excited to see just where this ride leads. Read Full Review

This was a great issue that once again narrowly manages to keep Otto from losing what he had fought so hard to achieve. Fought for his reputation, his future, his love, and to stay ahead of those who want to discredit him. With this said you might feel a bit bored with the escapades of Carlie, it's been a constant step forward and two steps back with her and you know that she won't be getting any closer to revealing Otto as Peter any time soon. Aside from this the fight between Spider-Man and Stunner looked very lively, something we haven't seen in a while and Camuncoli does well in capturing their expressions. Read Full Review

The worst that can be said for this issue is the same that could be said for many recent installments - there's too much material to comfortably work through in such a limited amount of space. The script is cluttered at times, and Otto's personality and dialogue lack the clean elegance found in Chris Yost's Superior Spider-Man Team-Up work. Though the bulk of the issue does deal with Stunner and the college thesis aspect, we get a couple of pages with Carli, who has come to an understanding about what happened to Peter and pays her respects to where Octavius' body was buried. It's twisted in its own way but well played, especially since she makes the "startling discovery" there and ends up kidnapped before it can be dealt with, putting her into the Green Goblin's hands. The main story is a solid one here though as we get some good stuff overall for Octavius to grapple with as well as what Angelina is trying to do through Stunner. It may be one of the less memorable books in the run, but it's also one that shows more of the cracks in what Octavius is doing. Read Full Review

Admittedly, there was a lot more fun and action in the story arc with Spider-Man 2099. However, I'm not worried at all about this slight dip in overall impact " we're getting that long-awaited Venom crossover next issue, and I think things are finally falling into place for Doc Ock's comeuppance. Let's just hope Peter won't have too much of a hard time putting the pieces of his life back together after all of this. Read Full Review

The action was great as Stunner becomes insulted at Spider-Man's use of now having four mechanical arms and literally rips them out !! Last month, I honestly didn't know how Otto was going to get himself out of this predicament with Dr. Lemaze but the way he does it pure genius. I said it from Superior #1 (Spider-Man #700 though….) that this was going to be an incredible story over all and with issues like this one, I still believe it will be. With Marvel also revealing the upcoming “Goblin War” storyline, I can now not become frustrated with issues ending with the Goblin King as this one also does. Overall Dan Slott continues to surprise me and I wait impatiently for the next issue. Read Full Review

Overall, Superior Spider-Man is interesting if nothing else. Seeing the world of Peter though Ock's eyes. There is a lot that might be happening soon, and hopefully one day the readers can see how Peter is going to pick of the mess that Ock left behind for him. Read Full Review

Despite the quick resolution of the Stunner plot, Superior Spider-Man once again keeps things moving and has some huge developments for our lead character and the supporting cast too. Slott doesn't let a single panel go to waste, and the issue ends with almost every character in a different place than when they started. The artwork is exceptional, and once again, this is a book you should most definitely be reading. Read Full Review

It wasn't terrible, but I'm glad it's over. I've gotten too used to Slott's fairly fast-paced story presentation, so this step back threw me for a loop. Regardless, I'm ready for things to pick back up with a Venom story that should be interesting. Read Full Review
