Larroca delivers some thrilling art in the issue and the visuals do a great job of showcasing the tension and emotion of the story. Read Full Review
Thor #28continues to prove that Al Ewing and Donny Cates are a match made in heaven, with some metal imagery and a mind-melting story. The next storyline looks to explore the connection between Thor and Thanos, and I'm looking forward to it. After his showdowns with Venom and the Hulk, where will a confrontation with the Mad Titan lead Thor? Read Full Review
The art team was refreshing, crisp, and super detailed providing a strong sense of realism that this reviewer loves. Somehow, Cates has a tremendous eye for good artists in all of his books, which is extremely key for a writer who relies heavily on explosive action and epic reveals to tell his story. Would I hop back on board Thor after reading Thor #28? No, not yet anyway. However, I would definitely consider grabbing some back issues of the current Venom run and try to catch up on that tale post haste. That rodeo over there seems to be hitting all the bells and whistles. Let me know what you think, have a great week, and God Bless! Read Full Review
The setup for the future is wildly intriguing, but you can't help but wonder if the journey there couldn't been a little more interesting. Read Full Review
Thor #28 is a disappointing end to this crossover with Venom. Every development came across as forced and rushed just so the story would end in two issues. Hopefully we can quickly move past this stumble and back to what's made Thor one of Marvel's best titles. Read Full Review
I really liked this. It was great.
This was good. If someone was only reading Thor, I could see how it could feel a bit lackluster. But as someone reading Venom, having the benefit of reading issue 17 of that series already, well after this issue came out, I really liked how this tied into that.
This was a cool second half of the Thor & Venom crossover. I really like that this crossover wasn't a throwaway, as the final two pages see the symbiote fall into Donald Blake's eyes and transforms him into a "serpent." This was a great way to make this actually mean something for the future of Thor. Aside from that, this was a fairly entertaining issue, just like the previous, and I really enjoyed briefly seeing the God in Black.
Yes, a little rushed...but still a decent ending.
I found it to be enjoyable. I do think ot was a little corny, like with Hellnir and the God in black, but I had enough fun with it to say it was worth the read.
Donny cates has really fallen off
The language is pretty cool and the script has an impressive structure. But I find it very difficult to care about the results of this little symbiote side-show; it feels like Thor (the title) has just been a layover for other stories for 6 months now.
I think it's safe to say at this point that this series doesn't offer much beyond Thor combining with another character concept to make Venom-Thor... or Hulk-Thor... or Galactus Herald-Thor... Is it going to be Thanos-Thor next?
