For weeks, the serial killer called Carnage has been hunting former symbiote hosts and killing them. Next on his list is ANDI BENTON, formerly MANIA, who's back to living in Philadelphia and without any symbiote to save her...
The path of bodies that leads to ABSOLUTE CARNAGE continues here!

Absolute Carnage is coming and I cannot wait. If Web of Venom: Funeral Pyre is even a sampling of what's in store for us, this event is going to be incredible. I will be honest in saying I haven't thought too much about Andi (or her life as Mania) in some time, yet I am enthralled by her story and her fight for her life. That's a testament to the creative team and the story they put together. This book scared the crap out of me. Read Full Review
An absolute must-read for Venom/Carnage fans, Web Of Venom: Funeral Pyre (2019) #1 is one of the most intense debut issues I've ever read. Read Full Review
Some big time payoff in these Web of Venom one shots, I'm very excited for Absolute Carnage now! Read Full Review
The doomsday clock ticks a little closer to the coming Carnage, and worse, there's little time left as it is. One of many former symbiote hosts, Andi Benton fights a one-sided battle against a lunatic grasping at Godhood in one of the final preludes to “Absolute Carnage”. The full extent of Andi's hell powers doesn't come even close to a sampling of Carnage's new enhancements. If everything here is just a warm-up act for the full Carnage story, I'm ready for show to begin. Read Full Review
Embracing horror while allowing newer readers to be reminded of who Andi Benton is, "Web of Venom: Funeral Pyre" acts as a fitting prelude to the "Absolute Carnage" horror crossover. Read Full Review
An interesting, complex, and seriously scary issue that ultimately focuses too much on the past to give its best, and new, ideas the breathing room they need. Read Full Review
Without even talking about the quality of its presentation, I can say that I do not recommend picking up Funeral Pyre just because of how little happens in this $4.99 book. Literally all you need to know from here on out is that Andi is in New York again. It would have been easier to talk up if we were given any kind of introspective character moments or more consistent art, but sadly, that’s not the case. Don’t check this one out. Read Full Review
Considering its tire-spinning point in a larger story and lack of entertaining execution, this is one one-shot worth skipping. Read Full Review
"I'll make it Rain blood and guts ! And bone !
I surprisingly dug this. I don't like Cullen Bunn as a writer but he is always better at horror or violent stories and this played to those strengths.
This is a lot of fun and the most Carnage we've gotten in the lead up to Absolute Carnage yet.
Andi Benton survives the closest encounter yet with Carnage in his "apostle of Knull" mode. The writer and artists understand that they need to bring something extra to the table when they can't make the fight conclusive. Some wild demon fight art and introspective PTSD thoughts fit the bill nicely, making this a wholly satisfying read and a great appetite-whetter for the upcoming event.
Great art but I have a hard time justifying the price tag on this one. Nothing really incredible and I felt like the writer and artist both tried to make Mania as cool as they could but to no avail. Manias power set is just plain stupid with the JUJU monsters that should have been dropped a long time ago. Carnage and Venom have been re visited in a great new way why not do the same for this character? Art is the saving grace of this issue as well as Manias attempts at control some pretty dark gritty images that felt in line with this arc.
I don't really know or care about this character but okay!
Not worth 5 bucks but, I enjoyed it for what it was.
