This was not a good issue at all. It was ridiculous and poorly written. Poorly written because Steve Rogers was so out of character and diminished to prop up Sam. There's no way that Sam would ever be Steve in a one-on-one fight. It is impossible for a myriad of reasons. PTSD? Lazy writing. The fight? There were some blows that Steve landed that should have left Sam out cold. Ridiculous. This whole entire issue is ridiculous. Wonky as all hell. This book is ending, right? Good thing. more

The only stuff from Johnson I've read at this point are the three issues of Action Comics when it was the Kal-El Returns "crossover" with Son of Kal-El and the John Stewart backup stories in the current Hal Jordan series. So, I wasn't quite sure what to expect when this was announced. Luckily, this was a nicely-put-together story that generates a bunch of interest from me. Bruce's stuff is intriguing, and Johnson creates a sense of fear and anxiety throughout the book with him. Plus, we had the introduction of Charlene, who becomes a fairly compelling and interesting character in a short amount of time. While the story was engaging, the main reason I was convinced to read this was Nic Klein. I've loved Klein's art for a few years now, and he doesn't miss whatsoever here. I thought Thor was the perfect title for him, but he puts absolute greatness on every page here. While I liked all of his art here, he especially shines when drawing the gorier parts of this book. All things considered, I think this new run shows a lot of promise from the start and I really hope this type of quality can be maintained for however long this goes for. more

I was almost hoping this wouldn’t be as good as it is so I wouldn’t have to add it to my pull list, but it is, in fact, very good. The comparisons to Top Gun Maverick are inevitable (there’s a scene ripped straight from the movie here), and it seems Adams has captured a similar fun tone. Great art, great story, and great character work, plus a great backup story from Phillip Kennedy Johnson! Dawn of DC continues to really impress me! more

I gave this a 9 because I gave the last one an 8.5 and I liked this one better than the last one. I think Jackson's getting a little hardcore, but I think that's because he's still a little messed up because of what happened to his mother in his miniseries. Eventually he's going to need to talk about it and people are going to start to need to talk him down. What he did to Orm and how painful it looked on that last page, damn. more

This was solid. Right before I read the entire Becoming series and Black Manta and was ridiculously into it. I love what Brandon Thomas and Chuck Brown are doing.

It was fantastic. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. When I got to the "to be continued..." I was pissed because I had to wait another month to continue the story. I can't wait to read the next issue! In fact, I was going to give it a 9, but while writing it I got so hyped, I changed it to a 10.

I don't have time to write anything but I read it just now and absolutely loved it. Corey Smith is amazing. I can't wait to see what happens in this run.

Missed Dauterman and Wilson's art so much

I reread all of Aaron's Thor run this week in preparation and this feels super satisfying to read as a result. This brilliantly sets the stage for what will be coming in this event and how it will affect Thor's life. Also, every page by Russel Dauterman is stellar and worth the price alone. It's too early to call it now but if the rest of his run was any indication, I'm certain this will be an incredible finale. more

I am lost. I have no idea who the killer really is. The characters are whacked out and comedic. Batgirl is working with Harley who I guess has never had her own story before according to King. Either has Blue Beetle, or any of them according to King.

Superman is on the cover screaming and isn’t in the issue at all. Maybe Gorilla Grodd will be on the next cover?

This crisis has turned into a joke, literally. The main characters are joking about their misfit name. People have died and their joking.

The series is 7 issues in and we know NOTHING. Two issues left to wrap this puppy up. 40ish pages to explain everything.... well really like 360 since he can over use is 9 panel grid scheme.

King, please take a break. Go write a novel, or a screenplay, or produce something. But please take a break from comic writing. Sometimes everyone, in any job, needs to take some time off to self reflect. Howie Roseman took some time off and the Birds won the super bowl acouple years later. That could be you!!!!!! more

The art in this book was fantastic and that's the only reason I'm giving it a 3.5 but the script was so god-awful that I had to take additional points away. Normally I go 5 for the art and five for the writing and subtract my points from there but this script was just utter garbage.

I can't for the life of me figure out why DC Comics keeps letting Tom King churn out this crap. Anyone who gives this above a 5 should not be reviewing comics, Tom King has run out of steam. The man just can't write dialogue or story anymore, I don't know what happened to the guy who wrote Sheriff, Omega Men, Grayson, and Vision, he must have died and been replaced with a watered down clone.

Halfway through this book it made me want to quit reading comics, that's how bad it is. I cannot stress how awful this story is, it has no substance, nothing. How did this garbage get through editorial? All I know is that Wally better not be dead, my favorite character should not be sacrificed for this guy's crap. Also, what's up with the poetry? is he really that creatively bankrupt that he has to steal poetry from other people to fill dialogue space?
