Archer, Armstrong and Gub Gub team up with Armstrong's ex Andromeda in hopes of fixing the mind swapped Gub Gub and Archer back to their normal selves while also fighting the 1% and Soviet bears. Hey, it isn't Archer and Armstrong if it isn't weird.

If you want something that's an even handed commentary on the world today, with great art, and awesome super heroic action then this is the comic to go for right here. I wasn't expecting to do this, but this last issue really made an impact. All New Fathom # 8 gets a 10 out of 10. Pick it up when you can.

This is exactly what a first issue should be. A true page turner with an ending that leaves you wanting more. There's enough mystery, style, action, and comedy to make it a true winner. Just a non stop rollicking ride.

If the story section of this review didn't already let you know this issue is full of twists and turns. It's nothing short of heart racing. The wonderful stylized action adds a whole lot of flavor as well.

This comic is unpredictable and it keeps getting better and better. The grittiness and emotional realness in this episode was not expected but very welcome and it's got me hooked. Infinite Seven # 5 gets a 10 out of 10

There hasn't been a series I enjoyed this much in a long time. To be honest I was expecting to not like it as much as the previous issue but instead it blew my expectations right out of the water. The universe this is set in has such interesting lore and characters on top of the awesome action that it doesn't seem possible to pull away from this series anytime soon. Infinite Seven # 6 gets a rare back to back10 out of 10.

Reading this is like an emotional roller coaster. It's rare these days to have something that I've been invested in, but Infinite Seven is one of them. The ending once again blew my expectations out of the water and the awesome action from cover to cover made sure I wasn't looking away anytime soon.

This new X-O Manowar series is fantastic, and so far for five issues straight one of the best series in comics right now. Matt Kindt is a genius writer and Doug Braithwaite is a superb artist. That makes X-O Manowar # 5 earn a 10 out of 10.

View Issue       View Full Review

The 2017 X-O Manowar has been amazing so far but this issue is truly captivating. Matt Kindt, thinks of new and unique and engaging ways to tell a story and showcase the core themes of his run on this series. Add to that beautiful detailed artwork with great colors and you have a book that is a great example of why we read comic books and why it's a medium that still is important and is as valid a medium for story telling as books, movies and tv. X-O Manowar # 7 (2017) gets a 10 out of 10.

Blake Northcott does a lot of interesting things especially with the narrative. Using a flashback and parodied social media sites to show not only the events of the issue through Aspen's perspective but the public's as well. This issue is extremely entertaining to read and any comic that starts with what's essentially a shoryuken into the sky is a must read for action lovers.

This volume of Fathom has been some of the most entertaining comics recently. It's art just gets even better and the buildup this issue has to the next is fantastic. For entertainment and for a series you want to get invested in Fathom is a home run.

All New Fathom has me hooked. If you're new to the series, it might have you hooked on the art alone. But add Blake Northcott's story and satirical skill and you have a winner. Pick this up. All New Fathom #7 gets a 9.5 out of 10.

Get a renowned character designer, and get some very witty writers and you get Amerikarate. An over the top send up of classic action films.

This comic is definitely 100 percent for mature audiences only. It's not just because of random gory parts but also because this is very smartly written. It's a tense thriller and goes into psychological horror and nightmares. It also has a cool setting with ancient Rome and Britain. This book is totally worth reading for those who want something that's intelligent and intriguing, and don't mind some blood.

View Issue       View Full Review

The book is a lot of fun to read, the plot flows well enough and is nothing short of beautiful to look at. The only complaint that can be thought of at the moment would be that it may not be as friendly to new readers who aren't familiar with Bubble Gun's first run. But it isn't completely out of reach to new readers. The main plot isn't so dense, the how's and why's of what's going is spelled out. But character backstory and growth won't be as appreciated by new readers if they just jump into this blind.

Molly's adventure splatting people and robots with her Bubble Gun is at it's best right here in this issue. The action is top notch and the clever story twists keeps the comic from being one dimensional. Here's hoping the third issue gets even better.

If you think Dollface is just some dumb comic where there's nudity and violence just for the sake of it you'd be wrong and this issue really drives that home. Doll face's anger and sadness really makes sense. Her brutal fighting style as well makes sense, all her rage would be expressed in that way. Then there's the ending that I did not see coming and makes a great twist. Though I do not like how abrupt it was.

View Issue       View Full Review

This issue was a blast to read. The fight exceeded my expectations and when it all ended it definitely showed that there's a ton more for Dollface to face. When you finish reading it you'll wonder what Zombie Tramp's motivations are and that there's most likely some more big fights in both Dollface's and Zombie Tramp's future.

View Issue       View Full Review

If you want action, playfulness, sexiness and something dangerous on top of that, you can't do worse than Dollface. Even when things seem at their most calm, this series can still shock you and ramp up the stakes.

Infinite Seven has paced itself well so far. The world is set in is shown to be very interesting and on top of all that there's great action, and art. The whole thing is as much a treat for the eyes as the first issue, even when the action slows down.

View Issue       View Full Review

Infinite 7 amps up not only the action but the story and characters in it's 3rd issue. There really isn't much to complain about here, perhaps that some characters in the background of this issue don't seem like there's much to them. But as I said they're in the background so it isn't a huge deal in this issue.

This comic is so much fun to read. It has everything a fan of action and suspense could want and it's wrapped up in an uber stylish package. You can't go wrong with Infinite Seven at this point.

This issue of Ninjak is action packed and beautiful. There's enough variety in the comic as well to make it a real page turner and totally captivating.

This issue of Ninjak was a blast to read. It feels like the stage is being set for something incredible to happen and this issue already has some incredible things happening. Matt Kindt really gets in the heads of his characters and paces the issue well on top of the awesome action.

X-O Manowar is now on a new alien planet looking to live peacefully. But war always comes knocking on his door in this new relaunch of the classic Valiant series.

This issue is fantastic. There's a better explanation for the setting and new characters than in the first issue. The dialog is intriguing and never boring and the action is supremely well done. The art throughout the issue is a treat for the eyes honestly.

Matt Kindt's run on this new X-O Manowar has been outstanding so far. This issue is no exception. It has the right balance of action, introspective character moments and grand sci-fi world building.

X-O Manowar has been a fantastic series this whole year with it's revamp. This issue is no exception and shows that it has only gotten better.

All New Aspen offers a lot. There's great action, gorgeous art and commentary on the comic industry and social media as a whole. The commentary is a nice breath of fresh air as well. Sometimes things like that can feel heavy handed or preachy but it seems level headed so far.

View Issue       View Full Review

As mentioned before this issue is more about building up future events and battles. So it gets wordy. Perhaps too wordy for the reader that just wants more cool fights. For everyone else the characters charm and the bit of action that is present should whet the appetite.

With more laugh a minute gags, and some really high energy looking art and more 80s action movie references you can't go wrong with Amerikarate. If you're a fan of 80s cheese, gag a minute writing, and high energy action then you owe it to yourself to pick this issue up.

The creative team behind Amerikarate seemed to have been training as hard as Sam does during the making of this issue. It's zany, over the top, and it still has a plot that it doesn't lose sight of. The jokes hit as hard as Sam's fists, which is pretty dang hard if you've seen how normal bodies react to it. Readers of Amerikarate since issue 1 especially should love this issue and it's ending. Amerikarate karate chops a 9 out of 10.

It was hard to pull away from this comic. I think Artful has really found it's footing with the way it tells its story and its art. The characters now look good stationary and in motion, and the intrigue has you wanting to read every page and get the next issue.

Bubblegun is a lot of fun to read. It's great to see the characters grow through the series and have it culminate in this issue. Add to that great art and a tease for a new arc that at least on the surface has a lot of potential, and you have a winner.

Danger Doll Squad proves to be a very fun read. If you're a fan of sci-fi and action and references you'll love this. If you're a fan of pin up, fan service or as it might be called in Japan "ecchi" you'll love this.

Dollface goes for your throat and doesn't let go. An assault on the eyes that won't be forgotten and could even be considered pleasant.

The feeling of being overwhelmed with side plots from the previous three issues is gone in this one. The pacing is so much better and on top of that the character designs and action are worth checking out. The ending leaves a desire for more as well. It feels like Geek Girl herself didn't really get much growth in this one, and it also felt like the creators of the glasses had some missed potential. It's still a fun comic to read however.

This comic felt like a brisk read. It's the normal length but it pulled me in and I read through it reaching the end thinking “What do you mean that's it? I have to know what happens next” which is a pretty darn good thing. On top of the story, the art is beautiful and it sets its tone masterfully. LOLA XOXO vol. 2 # 3 gets a 9 out of 10.

Is this a comic written for a younger audience in mind? No doubt about it. But does that mean it isn't worth older readers reading too. Honestly, I'd feel confident in handing this issue to just about everybody to read. This comic was much better than expected and I feel a step in the right direction for Miraculous Ladybug in the comics medium.

View Issue       View Full Review

Here's a little confession. I actually never watched the original tv show. Yet, I was drawn in by the art in the first issue and still pleasantly surprised by the quality in the second issue. If this series can put a smile on my face, it can put a smile on anybody's. Miraculous Adventures earns a 9 out of 10.

Now this won't give your child any helpful lessons to start a career in a STEM field but it does do something that's also very important and encourages their imagination. It's also charming and as stated before doesn't have anything that would be deemed offensive. So feel safe in picking this one up and read it with your kid.

View Issue       View Full Review

This issue is definitely the start of something much larger. It also feels like classic Ninjak which if you were a fan of the previous run may or may not be a good thing. As a fan of classic Ninjak and the previous Matt Kindt run this was fine for me. If you've never read an issue of Ninjak before and are a fan of hard hitting and hack and slash action then this is as good a place as any to start reading. If you are a fan then this is definitely worth continuing to read.

If you want something to read that you know will have depth and that you can give to a kid without worrying about it be offensive this is definitely not a bad comic to go for. There's good writing about growth, self acceptance and very pretty art to go along with it. Toyetica # 2 gets a 9 out of 10.

If there's one word to describe this series so far, it's "charming". It's quite a joy to read about these tiny characters getting into hijinks and learning about themselves as they grow up.

Vampblade is a rollicking read and definitely worth the time for those who want to read something that hearkens back to action cartoons and comics of yesteryear but with a modern twist. I give Vampblade # 9 a9 out of 10

There's a reason I chose to review this book. It's because I took to the fact it was set in 1998. There was something I got into '98 even though it all began in '94 kept on rolling in 95" Although this has nothing to do with that. It just made me nostalgic for it. OK! On to the book itself, this story is a lot of fun. It's like a tense thriller, with high octane action and a dose of sexiness all come together. Some parts of the book's layout felt like it didn't read as well but the plot and art are fine.

View Issue       View Full Review

This issue slows things down and for good reason. The motives of the characters are important to establish and the action that does happen is pretty awesome.

View Issue       View Full Review

This comic is very fun to read. It has plenty of cool action sequences and the design of the characters and scenery are top notch. Perhaps it's a bit slow on gripping the reader but when it gets going later in the issue it's hard to want to stop.

View Issue       View Full Review

It definitely felt that this story was worth sticking with, even if the last issue felt a little slow. Seeing the results of all the plans of the multiple sides of humans and aliens, and the explosion of emotions as well made this pretty fun.

View Issue       View Full Review

This comic has some strangeness to it. It wants to be realistic but some of the things it does are exaggerated when it pertains to the gore. It's quite well written though so it's still an intriguing story and quite the page turner.

View Issue       View Full Review

This was a lot of fun to read. As has been previous issues. The creative team behind this comic seem to developing and maturing their talents as much as Molli's character herself has grown. Definitely recommended to anyone who wants to read a fun sci-fi story. BubbleGun # 3 (vol 2) gets an 8.5 out of 10

Ertito Montana is crafting something very special here. This comic doesn't beat around any bushes, matter of fact the only thing this comic beats is skulls because this is a brutal story. It's a fun read though, if you have the stomach for the violence. One con however is that maybe the mystery is too safeguarded. As you don't really have any reason to care for anybody in this issue, as you don't know who they are.

View Issue       View Full Review

I didn't have really any expectations while reading this so I didn't know if this would be good or bad. But this was a pleasant surprise. The character's are pretty enjoyable though Violet seems like a lot of other teenage girls but she does have a quirk or two that makes her stand out a bit. Hopefully she'll stand out more as the series goes on. Also uncle Edward is a pretty cool dude. The Harcourt Legacy # 1 gets an 8.5 out of 10.

This book is a very fun read, and the last part of it definitely makes sure this book earns it's mature rating. If you've been enjoying Katie's adventures so far this will make you want to stick around for more. If this is all new to you but you like action, and darker more adult oriented stories then this would be a good issue to see what you've been missing.

View Issue       View Full Review

This issue slows things down which is understandable. It does feel like it's slowed down too much. It could have been a little faster paced, just a little bit. There's very little action but what is there is well done. It's a decent issue though, and promises some big things happening in future issues. X-O Manowar # 6 a 8.5 out of 10.

Action and intrigue permeate this tale about people on the run from all kinds of bloodthirsty people.

If you have never read any of the three titles that are Zombie Tramp, Vampblade, or Dollface you'd do well to start with this. It covers their origins and past meetings though in a quick way. If you have read them before, well, you'll probably pick this up anyway. But, just take notice most of this you'll already know except for the last part and it ends so abruptly. Cliffhangers are good but it seems odd. But the art is fantastic and makes this comic worth reading once at least. Danger Doll Squad an 8 out of 10

View Issue       View Full Review

As mentioned above the story may or may not be hard to follow depending on how much of the previous issues you've read but it is a good story. It might also be a little long but it could be seen as necessary so you can understand the story better. The action scenes and the humor more than make this a good read however. So if you've already been reading Ninjak or don't mind jumping in here and have the patience this will be a good issue to pick up. I give Ninjak # 20 an8 out of 10.

View Issue       View Full Review

It's a pretty fun read, perhaps some exposition could have been broken up a bit better but it really isn't bad at all.

Starstruck is a true unique piece of art. It's set in a universe with a lot of depth and that truly feels like it's definitely been lived in. The story got a little hard to follow at times as there were no transitions, from one segment to another sometimes. Meaning the reader should be paying attention. The last third of the book also seems to be a different story if you're not paying attention. All in all this is a pretty good first issue. Hopefully as the story progresses it gets easier to track.

Amerikarate seems to be going by a bit of a formula now. Though not a chore at all to read it doesn't feel as fresh as it's first arc. It could use something different happening, especially at the end. No spoilers here but if you have been reading the issue since it began you'll know when you read this issue. The art and the punchlines are great though, especially for fans of Adult Swim type comedy. Amerikarate # 5 is still solid but didn't feel as mind blowing as previous issues. Amerikarate # 5 gets a7.5 out of 10.

View Issue       View Full Review

Character interactions and character art make this enjoyable. Along with the raised stakes at the end. But if you haven't been reading Artful before this isn't a good jump on spot. It also feels like the pacing is out of whack. The ending feels abrupt as well.

A deeper look at the lives of humans who live in space in a sort of sci-fi, wild west setting.

This issue has some awesome visuals, and it does explain the internal struggle Katie has now with her blades taking her over. It feels like it didn't have much to say though on the subject. Almost like you could skip this one, though it does have some good info for new readers and an ending that lets you know the stakes are only going to get raised. All in all not a bad issue but it didn't meet expectations.
