It's a good start to a new story and continues to show the inner turmoil within, but this issue feels a little average, since nothing major takes place and Vader never feels under any danger, which is the hardest thing about this series, we are suppose to be rooting for him but realisticly I just want to see him as a full on evil Vader like we see him in Rogue One. |

Surrender is no doubt going to be an epic story, but now we are a few issues in, the plot has slowed down and this means this issue has very little to move the story along. My big issue with this issue is how confusing the battles get, I often had to flip back and read it again, which is a shame, since I'm really interested to see where this story is going, but as we get closer to the middle arc, it might be a while before we find out anything. Phoenix Resurrection: The Return Of Jean Grey #5
Feb 1, 2018 |
This is a fantastic finale to the series, amazing artwork and a big finish, though I can't help but think this series could have been done in just a few issues, since it really plodded along in the middle. It's a great finish to a mini series and so little too place in the first four issues, that a new reader could jump straight to the final, so this issue is well worth reading. |

Star Wars: Poe Dameron #22
Dec 22, 2017 |
Another solid Star Wars comic book but with it focusing on events leading up to The Force Awakens, it does feel like it needs to jump forward a little and represent the Poe we see in The Last Jedi. |

Star Wars: Poe Dameron #25
Mar 26, 2018 |
This is a great way to finish off the story arc and bring us right up to date ahead of “The Force Awakens”, I've been enjoying this series and how it helps fill out the new characters from the new movies and this issue felt like a great way to end it. |

Star Wars: Poe Dameron #29
Jul 20, 2018 |
This is a fine Star Wars comic, its got a small battle scene to keep things moving, but its your typical filler content that leads nowhere, which is always a problem with these stories. It's pretty average, but I did enjoy reading it. |

If you want a high speed take on the history of the X-Men, either to get up to date on all the happenings if your a new reader or fancy a trip down memory lane, this is a good pick up, but for me, it just didn't click and I won't be coming back for part 2. |

Star Wars (2014) #38
Nov 11, 2017 |
With a brand new story kicking off and seeing how Luke, Leia and Han deal with the aftermath of the events of Rogue One is going to be interesting. While Rogue One helped set up the events of A New Hope, it's nice to see some new stories from these original characters. |

Star Wars (2014) #39
Nov 26, 2017 |
Star Wars #39 continues to tell an interesting, post Rogue One story with the original main characters dealing with the ruined planet and trying to stop the Empire from doing it again. I'm really interested to see where this story goes. |

Star Wars (2014) #40
Dec 17, 2017 |
Another great book with an interesting story that helps fill in the blanks about the aftereffects from Rogue One, which I'm really enjoying and the art style makes it unique but can distract from the experience. I can't wait to see where this story is going. |

Star Wars (2014) #41
Jan 5, 2018 |
As the fourth issue in this series, this feels more about continuing the story than delivering a finale, plus Star Wars titles have a tendency to leave everything in status quo, as we know all the events ahead of them. It's a fabulous looking comic, as the art style really shows off the amazing Jedha planet, but sadly the story just doesn't go anywhere. |

Star Wars (2014) #44

Star Wars #44 is a solid start to a new series and giving more backstory of the world of Admiral Ackbar is welcome. It looks great and the interactions between the characters helps forge their relationships. It's also a good point jumping into this series if you haven't already added this to your monthly selection. |

Star Wars (2014) #50
Jul 8, 2018 |
Issue 50 of Star Wars delivers some impressive big ship battles and its always great to see the Empire at full force, especially Darth Vader. The artwork is also very good and while the pacing is a little slow, I still really enjoyed reading it and love taking a monthly visit to the original Star Wars characters, but its hard to be too excited since there is never any threat to the main cast. |

Star Wars Adventures: Forces of Destiny: Hera #1
Jan 16, 2018 |
A simple but effective Star Wars title, which is aimed at a younger audience and successfully hits all the core Star Wars elements. But the addition of a large talking otter and the simplistic story does mean older Star Wars fans should avoid, but make it perfect pickup for a younger reader. |

Rose & Paige is a decent Star Wars comic book, it's great for younger audiences but not as simplistic as previous issues for adult readers. It does have a all new original story and helps develops the sisters relationship plus it has a great artistic style that is a highlight of this series. |

Star Wars Adventures: Forces of Destiny: Rey #1
Jan 9, 2018 |
This Forces Of Destiny Rey issue looks fantastic but is simply retelling the opening segment of Star Wars The Force Awakens, that could have been released 2 years ago. I really wish this had been an original story set just prior to the events of the movie, as the art style is fantastic, but was a huge let down since its feels like a missed opportunity. |

Daredevil (2015) #600
Mar 30, 2018 |
Being honest, I was disappointed with this issue, I had hoped this would be a good issue to jump into the world of Daredevil since its been a while since I last read any. But sadly it just didn't hit the mark, it suffers from having too many heroes involved, who barely are used, or used those extra pages to give a huge brawl between the major players, which what the cover had suggested. This wasn't the milestone issue I was expecting. |

For some reason, I just didn't connect with this story, especially as I was jumping in since it was the start of a new story arc, most of what was happening had little impact because I wasn't invested in it. Star Wars: The Last Jedi Adaptation #1

Honestly, if you haven't seen the movie, spend the money from this series on the Blu-Ray and if you've seen the movie, this issue isn't worth reading. I just think trying to cram an entire movie into 6 issues, means so much of the movie has been lost and trying to squeeze in some additional scenes in as well, just results in an average experience and ultimately feels a little pointless. I'd recommend trying out the Star Wars or Darth Vader series instead. |

This issue includes two single stories, both of which have a nice upbeat story and leave on a good note, though the second story felt a little over the top. And while it's a bigger issue, it comes in at a higher price and with some great stories going on within the X-Men books, this might have been better as a introduction to get new fans into the Xmen. It's a nice upbeat book but I was disappointed. |

24 Legacy Rules of Engagement is a solid tie-in, it helps give more backstory to the main character, but its just a shame this wasn't out during the show airing on Fox to benefit from the hype around the series.
