It was the wedding from Hell - and that was before the bank robbers showed up. What do a conflicted bride, her dysfunctional family, a gang of Elvis-themed crooks, and one relentless sheriff have in common? They're all about to discover love is the ultimate hostage situation.
Going to the Chapel looks to break the mold of typical comics with an intriguing story that doesnt have to rely on superheroes and villains. David Pepose brings all the humor and charm that helped propel Spencer and Locke into the spotlight. His creative team will no doubt continue to bring Peposes story to life. With crisp character designs and bright, vivid colors that will entice readers for future issues. Read Full Review
“Going to the Chapel” is a lot of fun and doesn't hold anything back. It is a romantic comedy, but judging from the first issue, it's going to do very unexpected things. Much like how writer David Pepose's ongoing “Spencer & Locke” series turns the crime noir genre on its head, this series is bound to do the same for the romantic comedy genre. I can't wait to see what's in store for the future of the series. You should be excited about it as well. Read Full Review
Going to the Chapel #1 was such an entertaining comic. I got swept away in the nuanced emotive storytelling and found myself pleasantly and genuinely surprised by the plot twist at the end of the first issue. While the broad idea may seem like a tired trope, I can promise you that there is not another comic series in the current market quite lik this one. It'll appeal to a very wide range of audience with it's blended genres of action, adventure, crime and romance. Read Full Review
With the strength of Spencer and Locke being the comparison to Calvin and Hobbes, its exciting to see Pepose take on a more original idea and make it work. This first issue is chock full of characters, love interests and circumstances that elevate's emotions, be they doubt, confidence, certainty and love, perhaps not strictly in that order. As mentioned, the level of observations shown throughout this first issue are excellent and they do lead me to ask, what sort of weddings does David Pepose get invited too? Read Full Review

GOING TO THE CHAPEL reads a lot like a Tarantino story, with its unique and eccentric characters and neo-western setting. Through all the crime and craziness, though, this is a comic with lots of heart. Read Full Review
Reinforced by a charming cast of characters, especially the 'Nam Vet Granny who is way more than the baddies bargained for, and notwithstanding the meta-homage filmic nods, Going to The Chapel has enough of its own brand of dark hijinks to make this story work. Read Full Review
Outside of the pacing issues I had while Jesse was on the page,Going to the Chapel #1 is a colorful and exciting take on the rom-com genre. This first issue is a great introduction to the series and characters, especially Emily. The series is a combination of Bonnie and Clyde and Runaway Bride.Considering everything else currently on comic shelves, this series is a new and refreshing romance series pumped with just enough action to keep it engaging for just about anyone. Overall, I look forward to the next issue. Any rom-com fans should absolutely pick up this bonkers series. Read Full Review

Is Going to the Chapel #1 worth taking a chance on? I would say, yes. It was entertaining for a start, the story is well put together, and it finds away to stand out from stories similar. The book only requires a little more reason to invest in these characters. After that? I couldn't find a reason not to add Going to the Chapel to your pull-list. Read Full Review

After all of the praise the guy gets for Spencer & Locke I wondered if he could deliver again. Gotta say he doesn't disappoint. Not sure if there are any parodies in this as there are in the other series but this one definitely helps set a tone that people can follow. I love all of the characters and how they put themselves on display. You feel nervous how Emily is because of how her family operates. I especially like her grandmother in that regard with her resourcefulness. The groom, Jesse seems like a very decent guy people can't help but love, especially if those plans for a chapel come full circle in later chapte more
