The first arc of RADIANT BLACK ends here! Radiant Red is still out there. He needs to be stopped before anyone else gets hurt. But after the events of last issue left Lockport-and the world-reeling, is Radiant Black up to the task? And will he be in this fight alone?
Radiant Black #5 wraps up the series' first story arc with an emotional battle while hinting at greater things to come in future issues. It's a miracle that I haven't run out of ways to say how great this series is, which is a testament to the creative team involved. Finding a new arc to the superhero genre in 2021 is hard, but Higgins has really tapped into something here. Focussing more on the underdog Nathan's tale allowed readers to bond quickly creating a strong link similar to the black hole armour he wears. To then almost kill and wipe the board clean with one issue to go in the first arc is gutsy and he's pulled it off. Read Full Review

It raises so many questions and leaves us on such a great cliffhanger you'll be begging Image to push the release date up for the next volume. 'Radiant Black' closes out its first arc in outstanding fashion. From heart-breaking lows to supercharged action highs, 'Radiant Black' has subverted superhero comics in subtle and not-so-subtle ways that prove that Higgins is either a genius or a madman. Maybe both. Yet, the series continues to be fun and exciting with some of the best action sequences you'll find in comics. The first chapter of Radiant Black comes to an end and it's a very exciting issue setting things up really well for what's next to come. At the start this series felt like something really special with its approach to an origin story and now all the groundwork has been laid, I hope Radiant Black comes back with a bang. Best Radiant Black issue yet! Marshall is a much better and more compelling Radiant Black than Nathan was. That shouldn't surprise anyone who has been reading this series. What will surprise you is how significantly the stakes escalate over the course of the issue. Also, seemingly important new character appearances at the end.
You never know, where the book is going! And I think that is amazing :D ! Can't wait for the next issue!

Well, I think this ended up exactly as I thought, the step up was great as well as the execution. The next chapter awaits. The cosmic mistery starts to unfold!

Quick read. Introduces two new characters
This is another short issue but the fight between Black & Red was fun. Black now has a cape & red can make a rather large mecha armor to fight in. And now we're introduced to Radiant Yellow & Pink. I wonder what power sets they have. But I'm more so concern with how this story will unfold. Will we learn what's happening with Nathan? Who's the radiant and why does he want to destroy the planet? so many question. Fun issue but It made me more confused in some areas.
