She can seemingly control time and space with her...parts. She's as relentless a manhunter as law enforcement ever created. And by day she's no one you'd particularly notice, with her quiet suburban life and pleasant-enough job, but when the temporal dimension is used to break society's laws they call...HER. Jon and Suzie get in too deep way too fast as one little sexy fun party crime begets another and the villains of the piece descend. Turns out Jon and Suzie aren't the only ones after all...
Sex Criminals continues to be one of the most fun and naughty good reads currently in circulation (good circulation, not bad"..no Viagra). The art is fantastic, the colors in the quiet are trippy and get even trippier when you smoke pot while in the quiet (I don't recommend this). Everything about this issue and this series just hits the mark and for those Mature Readers out there I highly recommend sticking with it and picking it up. Read Full Review
So yes, from cover to cover, this book is worth every single of the three hundred and fifty pennies it costs. So while you are thinking about one of the Kirkman, Spencer, or Snyder books coming out some time in 2014, check out one of the really good ones already on the stands. Read Full Review
I unashamedly love this book. The premise is original, but reading #1 I fell in love with the characters almost immediately. Now that we are at #4, a larger story is unfolding and it is fantastic. This is definitely a book worth reading in single issue format, rather than waiting for the trade, for the letters column in the back. There are 8, yes 8, pages of written material in the back this issue, and they are all hilarious and interesting. If you are a mature reader who doesnt shy away from stories involving sex, then you need to be reading Sex Criminals. Perhaps not on the train though. Read Full Review
Sex Criminals #4 is the best of the series. Right from the first page you're laughing. As the comic goes on you feel all kinds of emotions. Suzie is a classic female character in the making. Sex Criminals is the best new series of last year and looks to be a strong contender for best series of 2014. It's the perfect blend of comedy, drama, sci fi and mature scenarios. Nothing comes off vulgar. Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarksky continue to mesh together fabulously. If you're not reading Sex Criminals you are doing yourself a major disservice. Even the letters column is a hoot. Read Full Review
Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky deserve a good reach around for creating Sex Criminals. Its unlike anything Ive ever read and keeps getting better with each issue. With all the sexual acts and humor taking place it never feels forced and is appropriate for the story. From the storytelling to the art, issue four continues the greatness. I wish I could gush more but Ive shot my wad. If youre over 18 and not a prude you should be reading this book. Read Full Review
I have no idea what the future holds for Sex Criminals. I trust that Fraction and Zdarsky will answer all of the questions they have posed. Im completely along for the ride. There is no other book that will make you laugh as much as this one, and no other book out there that is daring to play with the structure of its narrative so much. Every month another slice of the story is revealed and it proves to be more interesting than the last. I cant recommend Sex Criminals enough. Really, and truly to me this is the best book Image is putting out. Read Full Review
Sex Criminals #4 is another great entry in an astounding series breaking some new ground. Read Full Review
As the story moves from foreplay to the business, its jarring how quickly Ive gotten attached to these people and how vested I am in the connections between them. The thought that Jon might not be the best thing for Suzie makes me nervous. Thats the great strength of this book. Youre laughing at sex jokes but youre also caring about these people and kinda like hanging out with them. I just hope no one else gets tased with a vibrator. Read Full Review
Now while the book itself is more than worth reading, this is probably one of the only comics where the letters page is just as interesting. Fraction and Zdarksy both add their opinions to fan letters, and the fans share some pretty intimate stories Read Full Review
In many ways, the characters in this book are good people, but they go about things in pretty terrible ways. Because of that, there is a level of moral ambiguity which breeds tension in the book that is rare for a comic. You're rooting for these sexed up kids, but you understand why they probably should fail. Read Full Review
Banned by Apple, called the best comic of 2013 by TIME magazine, loved and adored by people all over the world, second to only, uhm, Saga in epicness, Sex Criminals continues its home run. Read Full Review
Without a doubt, some people will be turned off by the subject matter, but they are truly missing out on a great read. SEX CRIMINALS is fun, witty and genuine in ways you couldn't even anticipate, and this doesn't change with issue #4. If you're not reading this book, give it a try–it will pleasure you in many unexpected ways. And now, I feel dirty (in a good way). Read Full Review
"Sex Criminals" #4 is another strong installment in a great new series. It's gleefully silly, it's deadly serious, it's whip-smart, and you don't need to take a shower afterwards. If you haven't read "Sex Criminals" yet, I urge you to give it a try. I bet once you're done, you'll come back again and again. Read Full Review
Sex Criminals 4 did exactly what this issue needed to do. It focused on Jon and Suzies new foil, giving us enough detail about them to entice us but still keeping them mysterious. I really believe in Fractions ability to tell a good story, that being said Im still going to bemoan his flashbacks. But at the end of the day it is a stylistic choice to pace the story that way and blend character history with current action. And my critiques to that end serve less to highlight a failure on his part so much as impatience for story development, on mine. Read Full Review
This is one book you don't want to trade-wait on. Fraction and Zdarsky hold court on what is easily the best letters column in the industry, where readers share stories about their own ridiculous sexual experiences while Chip and Matt poke fun at them, each other, and the world. Sex Criminals isn't the best book on the shelves, but it is almost certainly the most fun. Read Full Review
A few details about the mysterious (and terrifying) white-clad authority figures who show up to spoil the bank-robbing fun. The head of the pack is, funnily enough, a soccer mom during the day. It's an interesting detail, but a largely superficial one. We've yet to discover how she learned of Jon and Suzie's abilities, or the nature of the shadowy organization for which she works, though with the way the book ends, it's likely that issue #5 will come bearing the answers we so desperately crave. Up until issue four, life has been fun and playful for our dynamic duo. But here in four, the ramifications of Suzie and John's actions may be catching up with them, even if the "sex police" aren't what they seem to be. We are left with a little cliffhanger here at the end. All I can say is bring it on guys. I am vested and looking forward to seeing what will happen next. Read Full Review
Fraction claims that he's writing a sex comedy, but Sex Criminals #4 may be one of the most honest comics that he's ever written. Read Full Review
Ironically for a series about orgasms, Sex Criminals is desperately in need of a climax. Read Full Review
Sex Criminals #4 continues to sink further and further. It has the potential and skill to be more than it is, but with such failed attempts at humor, it's refusal to progress the story, constant repetition of the same story beats over and over, and not giving the artist anything interesting to draw " there is nothing here. This comic needs something to improve it and preferably, a sense of humor. Read Full Review
I LOVE THIS BOOK! It's like when you meet someone and know he'll be a good friend for you. "Sex Criminals" goes on with a very well planned unveiling: this time we get to understand (kinda) who the hell is that woman who "speaks like the Sandman" and wants to arrest our heroes. As we are used to by Fraction, the issue is so damn fun and brilliant in its solutions, even though this time (maybe for my fault) I didn't really get some panels that were evidently supposed to be puns or funny situations. Anyway, this series keeps with the good stuff and I shall keep on reading it!
Another bang up issue, but i'm not thrilled by the jumping around the timeline. Also the price VS. page count is not cool at all, so they will lose a half point for that. However, the writing dialog, characters, art and colors are all excellent. I'm glad to see someone pushing the envelope, as this title features an 'underground' style i wouldn't expect from a mainstream publisher. I recommend this series, but maybe in collected TPB is best?
