As for 'Void Rivals', it may be a Trojan horse for the exciting team-up of two beloved franchises but it stands on its own as an entertaining first issue created with superior execution by a passionate creative team. Read Full Review
Overall, Void Rivals is a great start to the Energon Universe. By using a standalone series as the starting point, it gives the creators control over when and how to introduce different characters. By focusing on Darak and Solila, we become invested in their story, and the Jetfire cameo doesn't detract from the overall narrative. The main concern still remains how much involvement Image characters will have and their role in the universe. Read Full Review
Kirkman and De Felici breathing new life into the Transformers and GI Joe universe. It's exciting. Looking forward to getting into the full run.
So without spoiling too much (that everyone is probably already spoiled), Void Rivals is a great start.
Just focusing on the story, it is a great sci-fi start and drops just the right amount of hints that the twist at the end can be seen.
Good atmosphere, good art. Solid start for the character developments/pairing. Like them both.
Robert Kirkman's start to this universe and the other authors he is bringing on fills me with joy, even though I am not even the biggest fan of those other series. Cant wait to see how this goes.
A new world dawns and with it a new universe.
Even though spoilers are everywhere this review will be spoiler free.
Even without the big twist ending this book is solid. The art is great, the paneling is great and the storytelling is strong. Theres a feeling of isolation and hopelessness that permeates.
The designs are straightforward but harken to some classic stuff, which evidentally is very much intentional.
When you get to THAT page your hype gradually builds until you realize this book is has a lot more to it than meets the eye.
Its well wroth reading and if you can, read it blind.
It was entertaining. Wish it wasn’t spoiled.
Nice intro into the comic world. Colours are fun and art is good.
I think everyone has said the same thing about this book. It's a twist on the film "Enemy Mine" except that the characters are actually not aliens. The major part of the issue is the reveal that has everyone talking about. I am also excited to see Skybound take control of some of those IPs.
Not bad but extremely predictable.
